Your POV

I hate detention with a passion.

I had to spend two long, miserable hours sitting in an uncomfortable chair whilst I stared directly at the plain wall right in front of me as I 'reflected what I did wrong.'

I hit a kid in the face with a dodgeball during PE today, big deal. It's not like he was sent to the nurse's office anyway.

I had finished all my homework and detention was almost finished. Only fifteen minutes were left. Yet these fifteen minutes seemed like an entire decade to me. I had nothing to do since I was not even allowed to use my phone.

The sounds I heard irritated me more as time goes by. The ticking of the clock on the wall, the loud clicks coming from the teacher's phone as she typed and the slight pattering of the rain coming from outside which I had just noticed.

To add insult to injury, I forgot my umbrella and raincoat. I thought I'd probably catch a cold once I stepped outside.

"You may leave, Miss 'L/N'." The teacher sitting across me finally spoke. "May this never happen again."

I picked up my satchel and dashed out of the room. Only to see a certain ravenette before me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I waited for you." He replied. I could see a black umbrella in his hand. Ray even had a raincoat.

"How long have you been here?"

"I knew you were stuck in detention for two hours, and when I arrived home after school ended it started to rain. I knew you didn't have anything to shelter you from the rain as you walked home so I came back here to walk you home." He explained.

I stared at him in disbelief. A small smile crept onto my face. "Thank you."

We left the building and Ray opened up the umbrella. The two of us walked calmly along the sidewalk as we listened to the rain which fell down lightly. As Ray and I held the umbrella I huddled closer to him for warmth. I was only wearing my school shirt and trousers/skirt.

Minutes passed by and the rain was now falling quickly and heavily. Thunder could also be heard. I started to shiver a lot more.

Ray realised this. "Get on my back." He ordered and let go of the umbrella so that only I was holding it.

"Why?" I raised an eyebrow.

He smirked as if he had a brilliant idea in mind. "You'll see."

I got onto Ray's back and placed the umbrella on top of both of us so we could both be sheltered.

"I'm going to run, hold on tight." He secured my legs over his arms and I tightened my arm's grip over his neck. "Ready?" He said.

"Mhm!" I replied.

Ray ran as he held me tight. The two of us screamed dramatically. It's not everyday your best friend hoists you up and runs to your house to avoid the rain. It was just the two of us. Me and Ray, Ray and I.

Soon, we finally arrived at my house. Ray was exhausted. We stepped in and placed my bag and the umbrella on the floor and stared at each other for a split second. Then, the two of us burst out laughing.

"That was the wildest thing I've ever done!!" Ray guffawed

"We should definitely try that again some time!" I chortled.

"Yeah, just try to get yourself in detention on another rainy day and we can run to your house again like we did just now." He grinned.

"And spend what feels like years staring at the wall in that classroom again? Not happening, Ray." I lightly slapped his arm and smiled. "Leave your coat and umbrella down here, lets go to my room and play Genshin!"

"Sure, I'll just call my mum so she'll know I won't be home just yet." Ray said as he pulled out his phone."

I hung Ray's coat and umbrella and dragged him to my room.
