Chapter Seventeen

    *𝑻𝒘𝒐 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓*

     Kira POV

Two years has passed, I was finally studying criminology in the university.

I and my friend Anastasia decided to eat lunch at a new restaurant that just opened around the corner

I was eating when i heard a very familiar voice say

"Enjoy your meal, madam"

I looked up and I was shocked to see who the chef was

"Chase, it's so nice to see you here, how are you doing?" I casually said

"I'm doing great, I took your advice and here I am" He said

He looked even more handsome and matured than before

I didn't know what to say as I was speechless

"It feels really good to see you Kira" He said

"You too and oh this is my friend Anastasia, Ana please meet chase my...my long time friend" I said

"Nice to meet you" Anastasia said

"Nice to meet you too" chase replied

I wanted to hug him and tell him that I missed him, but I couldn't.

He then excused himself and walked up to a familiar girl who had just entered the restaurant

It was Damina, and they were hugging sweetly

It looked as if they were both in love with each other...

I felt so jealous, I just got up to leave

"I have to go Anastasia,I have something urgent to do" I excused myself

As I walked out of the restaurant, I felt someone running after me

I turned around and saw Chase

"Are you jealous?" Chase asked

"Huh, what are you talking about?" I asked

"Damina realized that she actually likes girls and we ended up being just good friends.. she says it's all thanks to your trick years ago that she realized her love interest" Chase said

"Oh" Wow I didn't expect that

I felt relieved as I embraced Chase in a tight hug

"Where have you being all this while chase? I tried calling you for a few weeks but it seems your line was disconnected" I said

"I lost my phone and your contact,I felt so miserable for months" He said

"I'm happy that you're living a good life now and you're working in the place you've always wanted" I said

"Working? I own this restaurant.. After I failed my college exams, I went to a catering school and I sold Dad's mansion and business, so I used the money to buy myself a modern home and this restaurant.. it's all thanks to you Kira, your advice then to follow my dreams motivated me" Chase said

"I'm so proud of you Chase and I'm glad I motivated you"

Just then, he stepped closer and held my hands

"I've being in love with someone for a very long time now, I bet you know who that is" He said

"I thought you're supposed to be mad at me for putting your dad in jail" I said

He suddenly cupped my cheeks

"I'm not,he was a criminal so he deserves to rot in jail for everything he did. I'm upset because you pretended to love me" He said
