Chapter Twelve

Kira quickly boarded a taxi to the hospital after she ended the phone call

How did Chase end up in the hospital? She asked herself

The taxi dropped her at the hospital and she ran inside.. she asked around for chase and a nurse led her to his hospital room..

              Kira POV

There he was, laying unconscious on the hospital bed...

I sat on the chair beside him and gently held his hand

Bandages were wrapped around his head, hands and legs

Chase,how on earth did you end up here?

His hair was scattered on his face so I helped tuck his hair behind his ears..

He blinked his eyes multiple times as if trying to open them.

"Kira..." He muttered like a whisper

"Yes chase, don't worry I'm right here with you" I said

He wrapped his hand tightly around mine.

"I was looking for you when a car suddenly crash into me" he said talking with difficulty

I could feel my eyes becoming teary as I watched him breathe with difficulty

"I was in school chase,I didn't go anywhere" I said

"That jerk! He lied to me...I was worried when I heard you left school,I thought something terrible had happened" Chase said

"Shush! Just keep quiet, I'm here with you, nothing happened to me" I said

"Kira please don't tell my Dad about this incident" Chase said

I had even forgotten about his Dad

I wanted to give him the letter but how can I? He's battling with his life here and I'm not sure if he'll be able to survive it if I give him the letter...

"Kira" Chase called

"Yes?" I answered

"What happened? You seemed lost in thoughts...if it's about me, please don't worry, your prince charming will soon be back on his two feet" He said smiling

Silly boy! He's in pains yet he's still able to crack a joke.

"Kira, honestly I don't know if I'll survive this..." Chase said

"Chase what are you saying? Please don't say that,I promise you'll be fine" I said

"Let me speak Kira...you know that day I told you about my nanny who died" Chase said

"Yes..."

"She didn't die but she was killed....by..by my father" he said

My eyes widen in shock. I knew it, I felt something suspicious

I promise you chase, I will make sure Mr Anderson is punished for all his crimes

Chase started finding it hard to talk as the nurses rushed to him

"Ma'am please excuse us, we'll have to rush him to the intensive care unit now" A nurse told me

"ICU? Why? What is wrong with him?" I asked but the nurses didn't answer

They took him inside the ICU room....

Oh My God! What is going on?

Why am I so worried? And about chase's confession..

I have to call Leo,I need to tell him about Mr Anderson's atrocities

I called him and he picked after two rings

"Hello Leo"

"Hello what's wrong Kira? Your voice is shaky" Leo said

"Leo, chase is in the hospital"

"Wait what? How? Please calm down Kira,where are you?" Leo asked

"I'm at city hospital Leo"

"Don't go anywhere, I'll be right there with you,hold on" Leo said ending the call..

I worriedly paced around the hospital until I received a text from Leo to come out of the hospital...

I came out of the hospital and looked around but I didn't see Leo,I went to the hospital parking lot and there I found him.

"What's wrong Kira? What happened? Why is chase in the hospital?" Leo asked immediately I got closer to him

                Leo POV

"Chase got hit by a car when he was looking for me,they took him to the ICU an hour ago and yet no one has come out to tell me he's alright" Kira said with teary eyes

Ever since I knew Kira,she was always a strong-headed girl.

And now it's surprising to see her this shaken...

I opened my arms for a hug and she hugged me

"Thank you Leo,I guess I really needed someone to talk to" Kira said wiping her teary eyes

"You're welcome, don't worry,chase will get better" I said

"Oh and yes regarding the mission,I was able to gain access to Mr Anderson's bedroom and I found this" She said handing me a letter

I opened the letter and read it

Mr Anderson killed his own wife? What sort of man is he..

"Mr Anderson is a terrible man,you did great Kira,this is enough evidence to make him rot behind bars for a long time"I said

"He has committed several murders,he even killed chase's nanny" Kira said

"We just first need to find those Gold bars and then lock him behind bars" 

"That's the thing Leo,I have no idea where they are,I was searching his room for atleast a clue when I stumbled upon this letter" she said

"Then this is the right time for you to search his house thoroughly Kira, you just have to go back there and search the entire house since chase is in the hospital" I said

"What the heck are you spouting Leo? There's no way I'm taking chase's absence as an advantage and I'm not proceeding with this mission until chase gets better" Kira said walking backwards

"But you have to understand Kira,it could take weeks for chase to recover and we don't know when Mr Anderson is going to come back from his trip, so this is the right opportunity" I explained

"No you're wrong, I'll stay here until chase recovers and you don't need to worry Leo, I have being the one working on this mission so let me worry about it" Kira said and stormed off...

It seems like Kira is now attached to Chase... I hope it doesn't get in the way of our mission
