(UNEDITED)
Flicker of light cast over Roxy's eyes as the sun rose high in the sky. She shifted her body, moaning as last night's abuse reminded her of why she was sleeping on the ground; at the graveyard where her parent's grave lay. With unsteady hands, Roxy lifted her top to look at the dark and blue bruises on her stomach. Closing her eyes, Roxy winced as she remembered what happened when she left the hospital; a lone with Noah the creep.
He tightened his hold on her arm when she tried to get away, pushing her towards the couch. "You're all mine," he exclaimed. His grey soulless eyes flickered with glee and wickedness.
As the memory faded, Roxy wiped her eyes as tears started to leak down her cheek. Her face was sure to be ashen. Biting her lower lip, Roxy got off the ground brushing the dirt off her clothing. She looked at her parent's grave, the words 'beloved father and mother' were edged on the marble tombstone. Lilies, her mother's favorite flowers where placed in the small pot that was attached to the marble tombstone. The graveyard echoed a deathly silence, only the birds chirped as they flew by. Before she left to go to school, with a shaking hand, she touched her parent's tombstone; promising to return soon.
Roxy walked towards her locker to grab her Chemistry book, when Megan shut her own locker door with a stack of books in her arms. "You look like crap," Megan stated as she leaned against her locker. "How is your sister doing?"
"Thanks," Roxy offered a small smile that didn't reach her eyes. "She was still unconscious when I left." She closed her locker door as her smile faded away. "I'm going later today to see how she is doing."
"Do you want me to go with you?"
Roxy shook her head, "no, but thanks."
Megan tilted her head. "I'm here for you, if you need me." Megan's eyes widened when Roxy's sleeve shifted to reveal a black mark. "What is that?" She pointed towards her wrist.
Roxy cursed under her breath. "It's nothing," she pulled her sleeve downward to hide her bruise.
"That is NOT, nothing." Megan's eyes narrowed in worry.
Roxy sighed, "Please just drop it for now."
Megan blinked and then sighed. "Fine, but tell me one thing. Was it that asshole?" They both knew who she meant by that, Noah. He was the reason why Megan found her in her front yard, not so long ago.
Roxy nodded making Megan curse. "Please don't tell anyone!" Roxy pleaded.
"I don't like it; you shouldn't let him get away with it." Megan hissed under her breath so that only Roxy could hear.
"It's complicated," She mumbled.
"I won't tell," Megan moved her fingers over her mouth as if she was zipping her lips together. "But, if I see that creep looking at you wrongly; I will punch him myself," Megan swore.
"Deal."
Hearing the bell ring, Roxy said her goodbyes to Megan as she went towards her own class. Walking calmly towards her desk, ignoring her peers as they chit chatted amongst themselves. Roxy took her seat, which happened to be near the Blake triplets. A shot of pain creeped up her side, Roxy blinked to clear the tears that started to form in her eyes. She cursed Noah for doing this to her. She cursed the fact she was in pain.
