“It’s been three days,” Megan reminded Roxy. “You’ve been lying to your sister and skipping school. Remind me, again, why you can’t tell your sister? Not that I am complaining, it’s just you can’t let that asshole win after what he did to you.”
Megan still remembered that night and every night after that for the past few days. Roxy would wake up in a sweat and eyes filled with horror. Each night, she would rub her back and help her go back to sleep. The good news is that today she looked better as if Roxy finally was ready to face it head on or rather move forward. Megan wanted to punch the jerk that hurt Roxy. The last evidence of that night was a tiny bruise on her wrists, which Roxy wore bracelets to cover the faint marks.
“Trying to get rid of me?” Roxy teased.
Megan shook her head No, “Of course not, Roxy.”
“Don’t fret I am going to school today.” Roxy changed her top as she spoke, placing her pajamas on the bed.
Megan let out a sigh of relief. “Good, because I’m pretty sure only going to school for one day is a new record.”
Roxy pursed her lips in a self-satisfied smirk at the thought. “It’s not like I didn’t do the work.”
Scowling, Megan’s lips turned downwards. “That doesn’t count.” She flicked the thought away with the back of her hand. “Hurry up; I don’t want to be late.”
Roxy rolled her eyes, “As if, you get there like fifteen minutes early.”
Shrugging her shoulders, “So I like to be early; sue me.” Megan walked to the mirror to put lips stick on.
“Huh, I think you want to be there so you can hang out with Dash.” Roxy wiggled her eyebrows, smirking.
A faint blush crept up Megan’s cheeks. “I really like him Rox.” Megan turned to face Roxy, a slow smile curved her lips. “I think I could fall for him.”
Roxy’s eyes widened. “You only have known him for like one week? Isn’t that a little fast?”
“The heart wants what the hearts wants,” Megan said dreamily.
Chuckling, Roxy shook her head. “I am happy for you, then.”
Megan grabbed Roxy’s arm, pulling her out of the bedroom. “Come on, we can’t be late.”
“Meeggannn, we are not going to be late!” Roxy whined, but complied.
They both stopped walking when they heard Roxy’s phone ring. Grabbing her phone, Roxy glanced at her phone to see who was calling. Pressing the send button, Roxy answered on the third ring. "Hello."
"Cam, when are you coming home?"
"It's Roxy."
Roxy could hear her sister sigh before she spoke. "I don't see the big deal, it is your name."
It was Roxy's turn to sigh, "Because I rather go by my middle name. So, yes, it is a big deal to me."
Roxy could basically picture her sister roll her eyes at her. "Look your motorcycle should be ready today. All they did was a tune up and something about changing the spark thingy.” Roxy smirked as her sister tried to say spark plug. “I’ll have them drop it off at your school. I know you don't want to drive it, but you know how bad I am when driving one of those things.”
