The next Tuesday came and the stone, as far as you all knew, was still safe. Though Quirrel did get thinner and paler

"He's not gonna last much longer" ron said to you as the two of you had to go down to detention with snape after todays class. You go by the third door corridor

"Ron, come here" you say as you go to the door and open it

"Show me where the dog was" you say

"You're not thinking of opening the door!" Ron said

"No, but we can try to listen if it's still there" you say

"Hey, that's a good idea. That way we'll know if Snape..." Ron begins to say before stopping "over here"

You go to the door and put your ear to it... growling

"Okay, that's growling" you say

"Okay, let's go then" Ron says "we don't know how to get past it"

"Yeah..." you say as you begin to walk away "alohamora" you whisper, opening the door. You open it and it creaks

"James!" Ron says as you see a three headed dog, he pulls you back from the door and closes it

"That's what it looks like..." you say

"Yes! Why would you do that?" He asks

"Well, I wanted to see the dog!" You argue

As the days went on, snape was still grumpy as ever. So the stone was safe. Though people kept messing with quirrel. You had been paying extra attention in his class so he could feel better about himself so he won't give in to snape, and Ron started berating anyone who laughed at his stutter and Harry always gave him a reassuring smile

Hermione had been focusing on studying instead of the stone. Drawing up study schedules and color coding notes and then encouraging the rest of you to follow her footsteps

"Well hermione, see, we help eachother with this. I help them with potions and herbology, James helps with charms and transfiguration" penny smiled as you all waited for McGonagall to show up in transfiguration

"What about the other classes?" She asks

"We're studying" you say "in class"

"Being in class isn't the same as studying" hermione says

"Hermione, the exams are ages away." Ron said

"Ten weeks," Hermione snapped. "That's not ages, that's like a second to Nicolas Flamel."

"But we're not six hundred years old," Ron reminded her. "Anyway, what are you studying for, you already know it's an A."

"What am I studying for? Are you crazy? You realize we need to pass these exams to get into the second year? They're very important, I should have started studying a month ago, I don't know what's gotten into me..." hermione said

"Well, can you name one wizard who failed their first year exam?" You ask

"Alicia Dirk" hermione says "McGonagall failed her"

"Why does that surname sound familiar" you ask as Mcgonagall starts the class

"Today will be a study day, your exams are coming up and you don't want to fail. Read the board for further details" she says as she waves her wand. The board writes on itself
