As term began once more, the 5 of you continued to search books, while Harry had almost no time due to his quidditch practice
You read standard book of spells: grade 6 while pretending to read tales of the beedle and the bard
"James!" Hermione snaps
"Huh?" You ask
"I asked if you found anything?" She says
"What? No" you say
"Let me see that" she says, taking the book only to see standard book of spells: grade 6
"James! Have you been reading this the whole time?" She asks
"No! Only the past 4 or 5 books!" You say "I think I'm getting the shield charm well!"
"That's not what matters right now!" She says "snape is trying to steal something and we need to know what!"
"Right, BUT knowing these spells could help us incase we need to fight snape!" You argue
"A teacher would beat you with 2 spells in a duel, James, if we find out what snape is trying to steal, we can prevent him from getting there!" She argues
"Woah, whats happening?" Ron asks as he and penny come into the common room
"James has been reading standard book of spells instead of trying to find flamel!" Hermione yells
"Well, he could be there too!" You shrug
"Did you know about this?" Hermione asks ron and penny. Penny whistles while ron looks away a bit
"Penny!" She says
"He raises good points, hermione. What if snape beats us there!" Penny says, you smile
"He told me he would actually help read, not just read standard book of spells" ron says
"He's been reading them in order!" Hermione says "the best thing we could do is prevent snape from getting to the stone!" She says
"Look, I can see we're all very stressed here. What about a nice, game of wizard chess?" Penny suggests
"I vote for this plan" you say
Hermione sighs "you better not read the rest of that book before we find flamel"
"Fine fine, we have a deal. Now help me set up the pieces" you say

You had beaten hermione at wizard chess, Ron beat penny. You were against Ron now, you had him on the ropes. Today was the day you'll win
Harry then comes into the common room
"Don't talk to me for a moment," said Ron when Harry sat down next to him, "I need to concen—" He said before stopping, you all look up and see Harry's face
"What's the matter with you? You look terrible." Ron asked
"Snape" Harry quietly says "is going to referee the next quidditch match"
"Don't play," said Hermione at once.
"Say you're ill," said Ron.
"Pretend to break your leg," penny suggested.
"Really break your leg," you say.
"I can't," said Harry. "There isn't a reserve Seeker. If I back out, Gryffindor can't play at all."
