a Munson story

the nightmare

I'm shaking. But I'm not cold. I'm walking threw a dark, foggy forest. There are no birds. You only hear the wind rushing threw the trees. I'm alone. I don't have any shoes, just a long white shirt. Then suddenly I hear a noise. Somebody is there. Branches crack behind me. I turn around. Nobody. I start to run.

There! They crack again. Someone is behind me. I turn to the other side. Where are you?
Slowly, I walk backwards. Searching for the unknown person. Then suddenly I fall on the ground. I trip over a root. Shit! Steps. They're coming towards me.

"You should watch out! It's dangerous out here and you never know who you'll meet." A person says.

I scream. But I'm not moving my mouth. I cry. But I don't feel the tears running down my face. Then I realize what's going on.

I'm in the body of a boy. Not older than 12. My body is moving. This can't be! I float in the air. Like a over natural power is taking control of my body. Then this power turns me around. And then I see her face.

It's a girl. I would say she's 13 or 14. Her one arm is outstretched and her hand looks like she's reaching for something. She looks very furious. And then she moves her head to the right. And my neck breaks. I feel it in every bone. I feel how he dies. He dies with one move from her. She didn't even touch him. His body falls down on the ground. And I leave his body.

But instead of looking at the boy, she looks at me. I'm there but nobody can see me. So this is why I'm wondering what is going on. And I think she does too. On the one hand she can see me and on the other one she can't.

She's walking towards me but suddenly I wake up.

I gasped.

It was still dark outside. I was sweating a lot, like I really ran away from the girl. My feet were dirty. Strange...
I realized that I cry.

"Rose!? Is everything all right? You screamed and talked while sleeping!" Eddie said. He looked worried.

"It was awful," I said and started crying again. "It was so real. And he's dead and I couldn't do anything!" I covered my face with my hands. My whole body was shaking. "Hey, sweetheart, everything will be fine! Slow down. Wait I have an idea." He said and went out off the bed. Then he looked at my feet. He pulled me out off the bed and lead me to the bathroom.

In the bathroom I sat crying down on the floor and pulled my legs close to my body and put my head between my legs. "Hey Sweetheart, stand up," I couldn't stand up. I was too weak. Eddie helped me and took off my shirt and pants. "So ummm, take off your underwear and go under the shower." He commanded. I nod. Then he turned around and I took off my underwear and went under the shower.

Two minutes later I went out with a towel around my body. "You can turn around," I said  and pulled up my nose. He gave me a new pyjama and underwear. He turned around again to give me some space. Grateful, I took on my underwear. Then Eddie turned around and helped me with my pyjama.

He took my hand and lead me downstairs to the kitchen. "Sit down darling," he said, so I sat down on the chair.

I watched him how he made us tea. Then he searched for the biscuits which he found quickly.

He sat down next to me gave me my peppermint tea and a biscuit. "Thanks," I said and gave him a long hug and a kiss on his cheek. "Do you want to talk about your nightmare?" He asked kindly.

I nod.

"At first I was walking threw this scary forest. It was really cold. I was shaking..." And so I told him what I've dreamed. He listened to me. He never interrupted me. "I believe you," he said and looked at me with a serious face. "but you have to calm down. It was just a dream Rose." I looked at him and sighed. "You're right... It felt so real but I think I'm just imagining it." I said and tried to be more calm. Eddie hugged me. And gave me a long kiss.

I felt home.

"I think we should go to bed again sweetheart." Eddie said. "You're right. I should try to sleep."I agree and we both went back in my room.

I realized he was right. I was really tired.
In my bed he didn't left me alone. He cuddled up to me and wouldn't let me go.

I woke up early. I took a look at my phone. Since my panic attack I had slept about 3 hours. Better than nothing...
Eddie was still sleeping so I already went downstairs. The whole house was still sleeping so I decided to make some sports and showered.

After an hour I made some breakfast for all of us. While I made some sandwiches, Karen came down. "Morning sweetie! You're making some breakfast? That's very kind thank you!" She said thankfully. Ted and Holly came down a few minutes later. Karen told me that Nancy left early for work. Today was her first day at Hawkins post. We started eating because Eddie was still sleeping and I didn't want to wake him. Be deserves some more sleep.

After breakfast I picked a few things and put them on a tray and brought it in my room. "Morning sunshine!" I woke him up. "I made breakfast for you!"

After he was done we wanted to go to the lake. We wanted to meet Steve and Robin there. "Wait," I said "you have some marmalade in the corner of your mouth." I bursted out laughing. "Wait!" I said kissed him and licked it away.

He pinned me on the next wall. Provoking, he started liking my neck, with the excuse that there was something too.
We both laughed and went to Eddie's car.

After a funny car ride where we both sang
I Love Rock'N Roll, Eddie parked his car and we went to our spot where we wanted to meet the others.
