Karsyn woke up shivering, he put on his overcoat. The birds were tweeting and the breeze began to feel colder. He looked behind him, and saw Clairé awake. He stared at the book in his hands. Was he really going to follow Wanderer's advice...?
He shrugged the thought off and decided that it would be best if he followed it just for the experience anyways. He heard the snap of a branch and he jumped. He covered his face with the book and he felt a hand touch his hair.
"It's only me." Clairé laughed.
"Oh...I thought it was someone else..."
"The rest are up, but they're also trying to get more rest-"
"...Woah, what's that cool book that you're reading?!"
"It's nothing, really...!"
"Alright then, should we get going?"
"Yes. Let's go to the others first."
"Okay."Clairé let out her hand to Karsyn and he held on to her hands. He thought to himself:
"Jeez...her hands are so soft, and sweaty. But that doesn't matter, wait, she's actually holding my hand-""GOOD MORNING KARSYN!"
Clairé let go of his hand and he opened the book and glared at everyone with a very cunning smirk on his face, as if he was about to commit a crime, but he wasn't going to commit any crimes. It was the exact opposite.
"Morning, guys. Now, we should probably get going. Does anyone even have a watch on them?"
"I do." Clairé answered.
"Good, what's the time?"
"It's 9:24AM."
"Yep. We should probably get going."
They dusted the leaves off of themselves and started to leave. Karsyn whispered to the book, "Wanderer...if you're even there anymore...can you tell me how to find Romero?"
"You are really weird, Karsyn." Clairé whispered back.
"Huh?! WERE YOU WATCHING ME THIS WHOLE TIME?! I'M SO SORRY!" Karsyn shrieked, covering his crimson red face with the book.
"Oh no, it's no problem. All of your secrets are safe with me."
"Really...?"
"Yeah. Now let me ask you something, why were you whispering to that book?"
"Apparently...there's a uh...a...a wanderer! Y-yeah...a Wanderer...inside of this book!"
"Cool. Let me ask the Wanderer something!"
"Okay, but make sure to be quiet, so the rest can't hear."
"Wanderer...what's our next step after we're finally done walking through the woods?""...Good morning, I hope you slept well! Your next step is to go to an ancient fortress prison! But don't worry, this will be very easy in my opinion. And also, a bit of good news, your next couple of accomplices will be lurking around the fortress...Good luck."
Clairé and Karsyn both turned to look at each other. Karsyn had a smirk on his face, but this wasn't any kind of smirk. That smirk was sort of a I-Told-You-My-Book-Could-Talk smirk. On the other hand, Clairé had a very shocked look on her face.
"Woah...that's cool!"
"Yeah I know, but wait, we have to pass a fortress prison?"
"Oh shoot...I wasn't thinking of that."
"I think it won't be that big of a deal...since we've got Wanderer to guide us. Right?"
"Yeah."
As they continued walking, the number of trees decreased, they soon finally found themselves looking at the cloudy, grey sky.
"It looks like it's going to rain!" Amalfi cried.
"You're scared of a little drizzle of rain?" Kahlo questioned.
"No."
They were interrupted by Adora asking Karsyn where they were going next.
"Where are we even heading to?"
"A fortress prison!" Karsyn yelled, pointing at the large castle-like prison.
"Woah, seems huge." Adora responded, with a toothy grin on her face.
"Let's start heading in."
"Alright."It began to rain so they hurried inside, but by the time they got inside, everyone was soaked. Karsyn's hair was drenched, but he loved the rain so he didn't mind.
"You guys should probably wait here and dry up, meanwhile, I have to go somewhere with Clairé."
"Wait we do...?" Clairé asked back.
"Yeah."
"Oh, okay...sure!"
