The group came across a large castle, made out of ice, even the gates were made out of ice.
"Hmm...what could be snowy and round around here...???"
"An igloo maybe."
"Yep!"
The castle's gates were left unlocked, so they headed straight in. It was very cold, not even Alphonse could stand the cold anymore.
"It's f...freeeezzinggggg!!!!!"
"Relax, I've given you my coat, what else do you need?"
"I don't need anything else."
"Sometimes you should sympathise with me. I've only got this shirt underneath, and I'm not complaining."
"Whatever, moron."
"What did you say to me?"
"I said whatever, moron."
"Awh, I guess I should take my coat back then-"
"NOOO!!!!"
"Guys...while you're busy messing about, try and help us to find an igloo, will ya?"
"Fine..."
Alphonse looked left and right, there was no sign of an igloo, he ran off and ended up slipping on the ice with Arden.
"...Shit."
"Wait, get up! Look! There's an igloo over there!"
Alphonse looked back as he was getting up and saw the igloo that Arden was mentioning. The igloo was decent, it was slightly huge for an igloo.
"Come, let's check inside!"
They hurried towards the igloo in excitement, they looked inside of it and saw...
Demetrius?
Arden was in a state of shock, it was a mix of happiness shock, but also curiousity shock. Alphonse cried, "ATTICUS! YOUR MOTHER IS-"
"Shhh..."
Demetrius was chained up, her black hair drooped over her face, only revealing one of her eyes. She was chained up, blood dripping from her blistered wrists. Her thigh was gashed and her wings were thin.
"Demetrius...? Is that you?"
She was crying, her eyes were filled with tears.
"Hey, hey...what's wrong?"
"G-Get away from me!"
"No...we're here to help."
"Help?"
Arden nodded and she moved back, "I don't need help..."
Atticus came rushing towards Alphonse who was standing outside of the igloo, "Yes, Alphonse. You called me?"
"Look inside."
Atticus was puzzled, but once he looked inside to see his mother, he was ecstatic.
"MAMA!!!"
"A-Atticus?"
"ΤΙ ΣΑΣ ΕΓΙΝΕ?!" (WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!)
"Running away wasn't a great idea...forgive me my son..."
"Ma, it's fine...just tell me, what happened?"
"Έτρεξα...και μετά, με έπιασαν...και με βασάνισαν." (I ran...and then, they caught me...and tortured me.)
"Oh my god." Atticus said, putting his hand over his mother's gash on her thigh.
Demetrius put her hands on both of Atticus' cheeks, "I love you...my son."
"I love you more. Ma, we're here to get you out of here, don't you worry."
Idyllic went towards Atticus, "Atticus? What's all of this crowding-"
"Atticus, who's this?"
"Ma."
"Mom...?"
"Idyllic, Μου έλειψες κόρη μου..." (Idyllic, I missed you, my daughter.)
"Ma, δεν καταλαβαίνει." (Ma, she does not understand.)
"Τι εννοείς, Atticus?" (What do you mean, Atticus?)
"Δεν μιλάει ελληνικά." (She doesn't speak Greek.)
Atticus smiled at Idyllic, "She said she missed you, heh."
Idyllic hugged her, but not too tight, since she seemed like she was in pain. Idyllic began to cry, and so did Atticus.
"Don't cry, my children." Demetrius mumbled, stroking their hair as they cried.
They let go of her and Alphonse interrupted, "Sorry to ruin your special moment, but how the FUCK are we going to get out of here?"
"We just walk through the gates, Alphonse."
"ARDEN ARE YOU STUPID?! CAN'T YOU SEE THE FUCKING GATES ARE LOCKED?!"
"Shit."
"Well, fuck. We're screwed, all thanks to you not paying attention."
Jolene put her arm over Alphonse, "Guys, now isn't the time for blaming, we need to think of a solution to this!"
"Does anyone have a stone?"
"Who the fuck would bring a stone with them?"
"I'm just saying...someone could bring a stone with them, and we could break the ice!"
"I have a wine bottle...but it's filled-"
"Just give it here."
Alphonse took the wine bottle from Lorenzo, and drank it all in one gulp. After he drank it all, he burped and used the wine bottle to break the gates. The gates were thin, which made it easier to break.
Before they took one step out, they realised that Demetrius was still chained up, so Alphonse used one of the shards from the wine bottle and he managed to break the chains made out of ice.
Atticus held his mother's hand and they all ran out of the igloo, Alphonse on the other hand, was still sober, but he was waiting for the wine to kick off.
"Where are we goinggggg????"
"We're going to find the princess now."
"But before we go, can we quickly go to your place, Arden? It's for my mother." Atticus suggested.
"Yeah of course."
As they proceeded to leave, the forest became slightly colder, so they had to run through it, since they were freezing to death. They had to head back to the town with no name, and from there, to Arden's place. Arden's place was just a cottage. Although inside it was very boring.
Arden handed Atticus a box, filled with bandages and plasters so that he could bandage up Demetrius' wounds.
"Sooo...Demetrius, when was the last time you saw Princess Séra."
"Can you please stop calling my mother that, Alphonse?"
"Nah."
"And also, I think you should set the pigeon free, it's safe and sound if you don't have it with you."
"Shut up Arden, what do you know about pet-keeping?"
Euphoria got involved, "I think he's right, you're gonna have to let the goddamn bird go, so we can go and find the princess."
"Fine."
Alphonse opened Arden's window and set the pigeon free, and then the conversation resumed back to Demetrius explaining about where Princess Séraphine might have ran away to.
"We were running away from the fire...she turned another direction, not where I was heading. All I remember is that it was dark, it was some kind of maze..."
"Maze...dark...I DON'T FUCKING KNOW!"
"Look on the map then."
Atticus gave Alphonse the map forcefully, he tried to work out where Princess Séraphine might have ran to, but it wasn't on the map. Alphonse howled, "FUCKING HELL, IT'S NOT ON THE MAP!"
Alphonse began to punch the wall and Arden pulled him away, "I know you're angry, but you could dislocate your fingers, you know."
"I don't CARE!"
"Everyone, I have a solution."
"What's your solution, Karsyn?"
"How about we just use some clues, we'll look around the whole city that matches Demetrius' description."
"Nice."
"Great idea, bozo. And what happens if we get lost?" Euphoria responded.
"We won't, Atticus knows this place off by heart...right, Atticus?"
"Course I do. But before we go, Jolene and Lorenzo, can you stay with my mother and make sure she gets some rest?"
"Sure."
"Alrighty then, let's go!"
They left Arden's place and went back to Dream Village, where Thea was with his brother, Valen. He was busy smoking while, Thea was talking with him.
"Atticus! Why are you back again...?"
"Well, we checked if the princess was there. She wasn't, but my mother was."
"Oh congratulations!"
"It's not a matter of congratulating me! It's also bad that we don't have the princess."
"Ehhh...so what do you want me to do about it?"
"Do you know any place around here, that's dark and is a maze?!"
"Dark...and has a maze, huh...? Well...I can tell you the exact place, but in exchange, give me the old map, and I'll give you a new one."
"Fine, here."
Atticus handed him the old map, and in return, Valen handed him a new one. It was tied with a purple ribbon.
"Thanks."
"No problem." he said, blowing the smoke in Atticus' face.
"I'll get ya back, don't you worry!" Atticus shouted, as he was leaving.
He opened the scroll and saw the maze circled in red. It was very far, more further than the Snow Forest.
"Hey Karsyn, try checking your book now."
He opened his book, and unexpectedly, the pages weren't empty anymore. And in gold pen, there was a poem written in cursive:
