Chapter 9. The Flora Forest

"Kaaaarrrrsynnn...??? You up?"
Karsyn woke up, he rubbed his eyes and realised his head was on Euphoria's lap, and he flinched once he saw Euphoria staring down at him, wearing a white shirt and an apron.
"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry-"
"Why are you sorry?"
"I slept on your lap and that might have hurt you. My head is like steel-"
"Pfffft, nah."
Luckily, the book was still in his arms, once he saw it, a smile beamed on his face, "Your mother...the trip!"
"What-"
"Today's the day!"
"The day where what...???"
"WE'RE GONNA FIND YOUR MOTHER!"
"Woah...woah...woah...are you crazy? How are we gonna do that?"
"We'll search everywhere for her."
"And what if we don't find her? You realize she's long gone."
"Then..."
"Then we'll just have to look somewhere else..." they both sighed.
"Yep!"
"I made you a plate in the kitchen, but before you go and eat, you better have a shower and get changed.
"Alright..."
"The clothes are on the bedside-"
"Wait, won't Lorenzo be bothered that I'm using his shower?"
"Oh of course not, he's drunk remember, I don't think he remembers anything. And he's probably gonna be like this until he recovers."
"Whatever, go and have your shower now! I'll keep your plate warm, so don't you worry!"

...

[At the Palace]

"...Jeez, these past few nights have been rough."
"Sir Romero?"
"What do you want now, Ernest?"
"I just wanted to say that since you don't really have a wife yet...maybe try looking for one."
"Oh don't you worry now, Ernest...my parents suggested a woman before they died, the only thing I remember that they said is that her name was Séraphine...Séraphine Chapdelaine."
"Wait, you're seriously talking about one of the Chapdelaine's?"
"Yes. I set their place on fire, remember?"
"Yep."
"To be honest, they deserved it."
"But your parents, they wanted you to marry Séraphine...but you set her place on fire-"
"It doesn't make any sense-"
"It will never make sense to you. Now, get back to work. We can discuss this later."
"Okay..."
Romero saw a picture frame of Princess Séraphine on his window, he threw it on the ground and the glass on the frame smashed. He looked back at the portrait of his parents on the wall and began to cry.
"I'm sorry mom...I'm sorry dad...I mean, why am I apologising, it's not like you'll ever hear me."

"KARSYNNN!!!"
"What? I'm done!"
"Good, now give me the wet towel, I'll put it in the laundry."
Karsyn handed Euphoria the towel, soaked with water. He was dressed in a plain white blouse, with the sleeves all rolled up and black trousers. His black brogues were the same as usual, but strangely, they made a loud tapping sound whenever he made a step.
"Jeez, you seriously need to put some baby powder on those."
"You think I would seriously carry baby powder with me?"
"Yeah, you act like a baby, you look like a baby, you are a baby."
"God, just shut up and serve me breakfast already." he laughed.
"Nuh-uh. Not until you fix that collar, and that hair of yours."
"Nope, it looks just fine to me."
Euphoria tutted, "Everything looks fine to you..."
He handed a plate with pancakes with cinnamon on them, "The others are asleep, we're up pretty early so don't make any noises, you hear me?"
"Yes." he answered, with his mouth filled with pancakes.
"Darryaaa...???"
It was Adora. Her hair was all scruffy and tattered from sleeping and she was looking for Darya.
"Good morning Adora!" Euphoria said, clearing his throat.
"Hey Euph..."
"Why are you so tired? Today, we are going to look for the Princess."
"...What Princess?"
"Princess Séraphine."
"That's nice...but before we go, can we eat something?"
"Yeah, here you go." Euphoria grinned, handing a plate filled with pancakes in his hand.
"Thanks, by the way, how was your night?"
"It was fine, I guess, how was yours?"
"It was fine."
The conversation lasted a couple of minutes, until everybody woke up and was finally having breakfast, after breakfast they prepared to get ready to find the princess. But before they left, Jolene rushed into the house, breathing frantically.
"Oh...my..god..."
"Jolene!" Idyllic shouted, running up to her to give her a hug."
Jolene hugged her back, but let go quickly:
"Listen. We have to go."
"What do you mean?"
"I said. WE. HAVE. TO. GO."
"Jeez, alright, alright."
Karsyn sprinted back to Lorenzo's room, Euphoria pulled his hand and looked him in the eyes, "What are you doing? Where are you even going-"
"I'm going to get the book so we can leave."
"At least let me come with you."
They both went to Lorenzo's room, Euphoria stared at his body, still drunk and picked him up. He slowly woke up and Jolene ran up to Lorenzo, who was having a hangover. Jolene messed up his royal blue hair. It was messy and he looked bothered, as if the hangover was killing him.
"What the hell...is going on???"
"We have to go, I'll explain later."
"Mmmmfhfghm...." he mumbled, words barely escaping his mouth.
Euphoria pointed to his head and looked at Karsyn as if he was about to make a funny joke, "And that's why you don't drink folks."
The rest laughed, Karsyn was straight faced nodding his head as if he understood, but in reality he wanted to leave.
"I think we should leave now guys."
"Wait, what about my breakfast..."
"Ya snooze ya lose! It's not our fault you drank so much, you can eat later." Euphoria rolled his eyes.
"But I'll faint-"
Artemis nudged him, "Your loss."
Jolene opened the door, and they headed towards the forest that surrounded the whole of the estate. Karsyn turned towards the page where the map was and saw a forest, circled in blue pen.
" 𝔉𝔩𝔬𝔯𝔲𝔪 𝔰𝔦𝔩𝔳𝔞 - The Flora Forest"
"It must be around here!" Darya suggested.
"Yep!" he replied, pointing to the direction board.
They went inside a forest, but this forest was filled with lots and lots of flowers, flowers of many colours, orange, pink, yellow, and flowers of particular types, tulips, roses, daisies. Amalfi's face lit up and began to start picking flowers from the stem, not realising that the others were leaving her behind.
"Wait up!" she yelled.
Clairé called out from the smoke of pollen, "HURRY UP!"
She ran to catch up to them, but once she caught up to them, she heard a loud gasp coming from all of them.
"What is this...?" Adora asked.
Jolene looked confused, "Seems weird."
It was a portal, it was covered with purple flames, there was a sign, it read:
"Be careful and cautious. I once crossed this portal you are seeing, and it leads to a bad fate. I'm warning you, be careful, and keep an eye open."
"That's all just rubbish talk." Euphoria mumbled to himself.
"Should we go in?"
"Are you actually crazy, Karsyn?"
"What? I just asked a question."
Clairé added, "Yes. Let's go in, this could probably end up helping us on the way."
"But the sign-"
"It doesn't matter, Amalfi."
"Okay...let's just go in."
Karsyn stuck his hand in the portal, there was no sign of pain. He decided to go in first, but once they saw him go in, the others were in a nervous shock. Idyllic pushed them all in, everyone let out a loud scream, especially Euphoria who was slightly scared.
