"3...2...1...LIVE."
Lisa took a big breath and as soon as the camera light came on she flashed her best smile.
It had been weeks since Jennie had had the conversation with the CEO and things had not changed between them but Lisa carried with her the new awareness that she was always under a magnifying glass from YG.
After they had been discovered Oppa was doing everything to avoid any equivocal situations and thus made sure that their interactions were kept to a minimum, yet she knew well that fanservice was an integral part of what they had to give the audience.
And Jenlisa whether they wanted to or not, the audience liked them very much.
Therefore, initially, the ship shifts continued to be fair in the hope that Jennie and Lisa would be able to behave well in front of the cameras without hinting that there was anything more than a close friendship.
Punctually, however, at some point in the live shows, whether they wanted to or not, like magnets, Lisa and Jennie found themselves closer, too close: often their hands touched, often they held each other by the arm, often their gazes lingered a little too long.
On these occasions Oppa would make wide signs from behind the cameras but without achieving the desired effect.
The girls, in fact, thought they were doing absolutely nothing wrong; it was okay if Jennie often liked to snuggle up to Lisa or attract her attention by seductively moving her hair or teasing her by casually passing a hand over her thigh. She knew that underneath Jennie enjoyed openly challenging both Lisa's self-control and YG.
"If you don't stop, I'll cut your damn hands off, understand?!" growled Oppa once.
"I don't know what you are talking about, Oppa," Jennie always replied in an innocent tone.
Lisa for her part was perhaps more subdued but she often lost herself listening to Jennie talk and could not help it if Jennie's beauty ravished her each time as if it were the first. It was something she couldn't control, especially if Jennie then smiled at her like that-each time she couldn't stop herself from giving her a little kiss on the cheek making her blush slightly.
Yes, all in all, it was fun to test Jennie's self-control and challenge YG.
"Damn it! I swear I won't let you sit next to each other again until the end of the contract."
Oppa was beside herself as he angrily crumpled up the papers in his hand.
As time passed, Oppa's reactions became more and more furious so that every now and then Lisa thought that maybe she should feel guilty about something, but what for?
She didn't sincerely think she was doing anything wrong: how many times had she and Rosé exchanged kisses on the cheeks during live shows or hugged each other and no one had had anything to say; in fact, it was seen as an affectionate attitude that everyone liked.
Why then could she not do this with Jennie without Oppa railing against them?
It then became almost a matter of principle: the more you tell me I can't do it, the more we do it. Not that they had to make a particular effort; everything happened quite naturally.
Soon Oppa realized that it took more than having them sit apart to keep them from interacting in any way.
If they could not touch each other, they could look at each other, and if they could not look at each other, they could talk to each other. Their flirting was relentless and emerged playfully and naturally at any public occasion.
