Jennie woke up slowly. She tried to move but something about her body prevented her from moving away. She opened her eyes with difficulty, feeling her eyelids weighed down with tears from the night before, but she still managed to see Lisa sleeping beside her with one arm resting limply on her body. That was probably how she had fallen asleep: holding her close as she cried. Jennie felt her heart clench and had to use all her willpower not to start crying again. She bit her lips to try not to make a sound and gently released Lisa's arm so as not to wake her.
Once in front of the bathroom mirror, she could not help but notice the pronounced dark circles under his eyes and the puffy eyes, as if she had stopped crying a few minutes earlier. She tried rinsing her face with cold water once, twice, three times, but the image the mirror was returning to her was exactly how she felt: undone.
Suddenly the four walls of the bathroom seemed to shrink, giving her a suffocating feeling. She tried to inhale and exhale steadily in an attempt to calm herself down but her heart had already begun to speed up. There was only one thing to do.
She tied her hair and quickly dressed herself in the first suit she found in the closet.
Despite the sun, the air was cool and gave her face a pleasant feeling. She took a big breath feeling her lungs fill up, put on her sunglasses and started walking. It was very early and the city had yet to wake up except for very few people who were already on the move. The streets were enveloped in a strange calm and peace that contrasted with the tumult Jennie felt in her chest.
She had been a fool to trust Bonny. Her desire to believe him had swept away all lucidity and Jisoo's attempts to reason with her were to no avail. She wanted to believe him with all her might, even if it meant going against her best friend. Would she ever be able to make it up to her? The idea that Jisoo might not forgive her this time stuck in her heart. What about Rosé? She had deluded her that this would be the turning point for her too, that she could become the singer songwriter she had always dreamed of, how could she ever look to her again?
And then, Lisa. Her Lisa.
She had dragged her into the illusion that they could finally be free to love each other and she was so happy... how could she ever explain that nothing was true and that Bonny was just using them?
Bonny aided by Oppa, it would seem.
She wondered what was Oppa's real role in all this. Their manager had always been YG's watchful eye on them, could it be possible that the agency was also in on using them in this way?
She looked up to see where she was and began to walk briskly in the direction of YG Building.
She wanted to know. She wanted to know everything.
Right now.

Jennie took a moment to look at the building in front of her and then walked through the entrance. She swiped her badge and, without greeting anyone, headed for the CEO's office.
There were very few people around, probably because it was morning and the training guys were in class while the dancers had not yet arrived to rehearse.
In a few minutes she was in front of the CEO's office, suddenly unsure whether to knock or not: she would finally have proof if what she was experiencing was a nightmare involving everyone and she didn't know if she was ready to be certain. She shook her head to keep a thousand thoughts from overlapping and, without thinking about it for a moment longer, entered the room almost without knocking.
