THE STARS WERE SHINING DOWN on Valerie and Finney, as they laid upon a blanket, stretched out across the grass. The two were just rambling on and on about anything that came to mind. They were originally supposed to be studying, but they decided that was to boring.

"It's been three years" Finney spoke into the silence, still staring up into the dark sky. A solemn expression spread on his face.

"I still have nightmares" Valerie sat up, resting her arms on the ground for support. "I-I know it sounds stupid, but all I can see is his bloody faces, and his pleas to stop" Her voice cracked, as all the memory's flooded back once again.

"They never go away" Finney copied her actions, still staring deeply up at the sky. "I see his stupid fucking face, everywhere" His face scrunched up in disgust as he thought about the amount of blood caked up on his hands, that day. Even occasionally looking down at his hands.

Valerie shook her head, like it would shake away the horrid thoughts. "Let's not talk about it no more"

Finn nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah"

The red head let out a jagged breath, composing herself back together. She pushed herself to her feet, holding out a hand for Finn to grab. As he did, she helped him up, both brushing of the grass and dirt.

They didn't have to say anything to know they they both wanted to back inside.

As they entered Valerie's house it was filled with the noise of a tv. Their heads turned to the living as they passed, seeing Allie was completely knocked out. Light snores left the older sisters mouth, as her head was resting against a pillow. Her feet stretched out on the other side of the couch.

The two passed the living room, heading up to Valerie's room.

The two stayed completely silent, both plopping on the bed beside each other. They weren't planning on sleeping, hence it was only 9am, but instead do what they normally did; be silent or talk. And it seemed like they resigned on being silent.

Not too long after the silence, it turned into sleep. Normally Finn slept on the small couch, and Valerie in her bed. But this night was different. They both wanted comfort. It was one of the first times they talked about the subject. And it affected them greatly. They didn't cry, no. But instead they were there for each other, bringing comfort to one another.

They weren't entangled in each other, but instead they laid peacefully beside each other. Valerie's head on Finn's shoulder and Finns head on top of hers.
