" Nobody's dying, okay? "
THE GROUP OF SIX TRUDGED down the streets, a drag to each of their steps. They were all tired of walking, but Allie continued to persist that they were close to leaving the ghost town. Instead the town was like it never ended. "A never ending ghost town" Vance liked to call it.Now they were far away from home and in the middle of no where, and no telephone box in sight. In other words they were screwed. The only thing they could to was walk.
The map didn't do shit, considering the map didn't even mark where they were anymore, almost like where they were, didn't exist anymore. The town didn't even show a town or city name, at least not one that had been visible.
"How much longer?" Gwen groaned, looking over to Allie.
"Not to much" She replied confidently, before looking back with hesitation. "Or at least I think"
"You think?" Vance repeated looking at her incredulously.
Valerie rolled her eyes at the two. They were more like siblings then Allie and Valerie even were.
Allie and Vance had stopped walking, bickering back and forth about what they were going to do. None of the teenagers stayed back to wait, knowing the two would soon realize nobody was waiting for them.
Bruce walked a little faster, making his way beside Valerie. He had noticed how off she was acting, although he understood why, he didn't like to see it.
Valerie noticed his presence, sending him a smile. "Where gonna find them."
Valerie sighed, biting the inside of her cheek. "I hope."

It was now dark and the group had lost all hope. They were lost.
Bruce paced back and forth on the side walk, rubbing his temples. "My parents are going to kill me."
"They won't be able to kill you, if we're already dead!" Valerie screeched, subconsciously scooting closer to her sister for comfort.
"Don't think like that" Gwen advised, while also sticking close to her brother.
They were all leaned against a building beside a broken phone box that Vance was trying to use, while Bruce paced on the sidewalk in front of them.
Surprisingly the tension between Vance and Finn had washed away, more worried about the situation they were stuck in, especially with a new kidnapper on the loose.
Vance stopped messing with the phone line, turning to look at Bruce with frustration clear in his face. "Bruce" he called out, but the boy only continued to pace back and forth. "Bruce!" He repeated raising his voice, finally catching the attention of the boy.
"Yes?"
"Could you stop pacing?" Vance asked harshly.
"No" Bruce denied simply going back to his pacing. Valerie tried to subside her laugh that she accidentally let escape when she saw Vance's face that looked like he was about to explode.
In frustration of the phone not working, Vance threw the phone down against the ground. The cord it was attached to, completely breaking off from the phone.
Bruce stoped his pacing, worry written all over his face as he looked at the phone on the ground. "Great! If it had any chance of working, it definitely won't now."
Vance grabbed at his curly hair, abruptly turning towards Bruce. "Could you please, shut the fuck up." He snapped.
Although Bruce wasn't fazed, accustomed to the boys normal lashing out. "We're gonna die." He cried out, going back to his habit of pacing.
Allie sighed. "Nobody's dying, okay?"
Finn got off from the wall, scoffing. "Tell that to our dead body's, if we don't get out of this ghost town soon."
Valerie tuned out—what sounded like another argument, focusing on something behind the group that went back and forth, bickering.
A small light came from the building in front of them, illuminating a small patch of the light in the small shops window.
She squinted her eyes, making sure she wasn't just seeing things and slowly driving herself insane.
While everyone was distracted with bickering about dying or not, she slowly stepped away from the group, feeling overwhelmed. As much as she wanted to go closer to the light source, she didn't. Something in her mind telling her not to.
She ran a hand through her hair, knots all in the ends of her hair. It frustrated her because she loved when her hair felt smooth. It always made her feel pretty. To be fair, she hasn't felt pretty in a long time.
Her eyes became heavier by the moment. Feeling the sudden weight of the world on her shoulders. It became so hard to resist the darkness consuming that she let it happen.
While the group was huddled in a circle, still discussing things, she felt left out. Feeling alone, and she had no idea what was going on. All she wanted was to have that person back. The person who never made her feel alone.
So to avoid the tears, she slid down the brick wall, sitting on the concrete ground with her knees tucked into her chest and her head buried in her knees.
But the moment she closed her eyes, regret filled her.
Wishing she had just kept the open.
