Juliette is very protective of Calliope. It is revealed that Calliope is Juliette's mate.
Everyone in julliets family is shocked as a vampire haven't had a mate since littith.
The burns family are shocked but just think juliette has made that up to trick Calliope. As the guild never new vampire can have mates.
Thats why they share dreams. It is their mate bond. And that is why Juliette bit calliope, it wasn't to kill or feed off her it was the natural instinct for vampire to bite and claim their mate.
