we all took a seat at the table. but I feared for the worse. my parents see The engineer as a stranger, a mercenary. I have to convince them that there is nothing to be afraid of. I also hoped they would just treat him like any other guest we ever had. a sweatdrop rolled down on my forehead and my heart is racing. but that soon faded when my parents simply started a conversation with the man.

Dad: so you were an engineer, interesting.

my daughter would like to study for (a job you like)

(y/n): dad...

dad: why are you so shy about that? it is what you like. your passion.

there is no reason to feel ashamed to let people know what you like and what you believe in.

(y/n): I know, it's not that, it's just -

the doorbell rings. my parents didn't seem surprised at the sound at all. But Dell and I, couldn't help but look up at the sudden sound.

at first, I thought someone would drop off a package but that was not the case at all. my mother excused herself to answer the door.

(y/n): who could be at the door?

dad: must be (aunt name).

(y/n): what? nobody told me aunty would visit today.

Dad: Oh that's right. we totally forgot to mention that she called when you went to the store.

(y/n): ah that makes more sense.

my mom and aunt walk into the room. I got up from my seat to embrace her in a hug which she gladly returned.

aunt (name): hey if it isn't my favorite cousin. how are you (y/n)?

(y/n): I'm good, how about you?

aunt (name): good, like Always.

She smiled.

aunt (name): And who is this?

a friend of yours? or is he your boyfriend? you two make a cute couple.~

My father nearly spits out his food.

I blushed madly at her statement. Dell's cheeks turn pink as well. I hold my hands up and shake my head furiously.

(y/n): a-aunt ?! n-no.his name is Dell. he's just a friend.

I stutter as I explain how it really is. my aunt gets somewhat embarrassed as well.

aunt (name): oh sorry (y/n). that's my bad please forgive me. and it's nice to meet you.

dell: the pleasure is all mine ma'am.

they both shook hands before my mother walks off to grab another plate so my aunt could join us for dinner. now I understood why my mom made so much soup in the first place.

great now I look like a tomato I thought by myself as I tried to hide it without looking like a complete idiot. I just ate my soup in silence until the color has drained from my face.

after we finished and clear the table of we continued chatting for a while. in the evening we made a hot cup of coffee and some ate some (f/f) cake which aunty had brought for us.

Time skip by happy fun time chatting XD

aunt (name): oh my look at the time.

I think its time for me to go. I got some important stuff to do for work that needs to be done by tomorrow. My recent client isn't a patient man, to be honest.

she said her goodbyes to everyone except for me.

I got up walking with her towards the front door.

(y/n): bye it was nice for you to visit

aunt (name): It was. I hope to see you real soon. it was also very pleased to get to know Mister Conager. he is a fine man.

(y/n): I am well aware of that.

I gave her a hug and waved goodbye as she left in her car. when she drove out of the lane I went back inside.

dell: well I guess I better take my leave as well. I feel as if I overstayed my welcome.

(y/n): wait, where will you go?

dell: I don't know yet.

it's not like I have anywhere to go

my mom looked my dad in the eyes for a second. and they both thought the same. I couldn't let this happen. he couldn't sleep on the street. as embarrassing as it must have been for him, he did admit that h had no place to go. that's why even though I could already hear my parents say the answer to my question. but I didn't care. I had to ask, it's now or never.

but before I could open my mouth, my mom spoke up.

Mom: well we have a spare guest room... so if you want, we can let you say here for the night.

I was surprised to hear those words from my mother. only this afternoon she was so determined to send him away, perhaps now that she got to know him a little better they finally realize what I said was true. he really is a nice guy. even if he is a mercenary.

dell: I really can't.

mom: why not?

dell: you have done enough for me already. I don't want to be a burden.

dad: we really don't mind it.

dell:..... what about you young lady?

(y/n): I say be our guest.

dell: thank y'all.

He accepted our offer with a smile. I had to try really hard not to smile like a dork or fan squeal.
