Mind Control - OC X BUCKY BARNES

Chapter 22

Diana stays away from Steve as she helps Wanda control the people. They both get them out of their homes and onto the bridge to evacuate.

Suddenly the ground shakes and bots come crawling out of the ground. "Go!" Diana yells to the civilians, helping them run.

Diana stops as the ground shakes once more, this time it breaks and starts to rise. She looks up to see Ultron above the city. "Do you see? The beauty of it, the inevitability. You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor, my swift and terrible sword and the earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal."

Diana flies into Ultron, crashing him through several buildings, stopping with one finally kick. He flies into a wall, climbing out and staring at her angrily. "That was for Natasha." Diana growls. She blasts his chest, going to attack again before hearing a child crying out for his mother. She flies into an abandoned building, seeing the young child trapped under some debris. "Hey....it's gonna be okay." She quickly lifts the debris and throws it off. "Hey buddy...come here." She kneels down with a warm smile.

The child runs into her arms and hugs her tight. "My sister...." He points to the next room. "I hid her."

"Good boy." She picks him up and holds him on her hip. "What's your name...I'm Diana."

"Adam." He nods shyly. "That's Rosie." He points to a dresser.
Diana quickly opens the top drawer to see a small baby sleeping. She picks her up and cradles her with her free arm. "I don't know where our mom is..."

"We'll find her." Diana steps over to the broken side of the building, seeing a Helicarrier from shield with life boats. "Close your eyes."  She leaps up and flies up onto the first boat, softly setting Adam down and handing him his sister. She turns to a paramedic. "They lost they're mother...Adam and Rosie."

"We'll do everything we can to find her."

Diana kneels down to Adam. "I have to go stop the scary robot..."

"Thank you." Adam hugs her 

"I will be back for you." Diana rubs the two children's heads and quickly flies off.

She lands in the church just as Natasha rushes inside. "What's the drill?" Natasha asks, quickly hugging Diana.

Tony points to the Vibranium core. "This is the drill. If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose."

Thor lands down and crushes a bot, looking out at Ultron. "Is that the best you can do?" He yells.

Ultron then summons his army of robots to join him. "You had to ask." Steve sighs.

"This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you, against all of me. How could you possibly hope to stop me?" Ultron asks.

"Well, like the old man said. Together." Tony nods.

Diana summons her power at her hands, she blasts it forward as hundreds of bots come pouring through. The entire team was working together to take out the bots, just like old times.

Diana flies outside and kicks Ultron down, creating a large beam of power at her hand. Vision, Tony, and Thor join her, all using their own powers to blast Ultron. They all stop and look down at him. "You know, with the benefit of-" Hulk suddenly kicks him away. The bots react by trying to leave.

"They'll try to leave the city!"

"We can't let 'em, not even one. Rhodey!" Tony yells.

"I'm on it."

"We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats, I'll sweep for stragglers, be right behind you."

"I'll join you." Diana nods.

Clint turns, "What about the core?"

"I'll protect it. It's my job." Wanda nods.

Diana jogs beside Steve, taking out any remaining bots on the way and listening for anyone who needs help. "I'm sorry...." The two say at the same time.

"Let's not fight again." Diana chuckles.

"Agreed."

"I'm gonna go find the kids I found earlier....make sure they're okay." Diana stops. "Get your spangled ass on a boat." She points, smirking at him as he sighs.

Diana flies up to the carrier, she searches among the civilians until she sees a woman holding a familiar baby and hugging another child. "Mother, that's Diana!" Adam points to me.

His mother hugs Diana, thanking her in Sokovian many times.

A month later, the team had moved into the new Avengers Compound upstate. But now it was time for some of them to split up.

Diana walks outside to see Tony and Steve standing by his car. "Hey mom..." Tony smiles, quickly hugging Diana.

"You have a phone, so make sure to use it." Diana caresses the side of his face.

"I will." He smiles.

Diana turns and walks back inside, Steve following closely behind her. The two would be getting the new team in shape...but Diana would focus on finding Bucky.
