Agent Hill takes the group to some sort of secret hideout, they rush Natasha down a dark hall to see a doctor running towards them. "GSW. She's lost at least a pint."

"Maybe two." Sam nods.

"Let me take her."

"She'll want to see him first." Hill takes them into another room to see Nick who's alive and lying in bed.

"About damn time." Nick shakes his head, watching as the doctor sits Natasha down and starts treating her wound and informs them of his wounds. "Lacerated spinal column, cracked sternum, shattered collarbone, perforated liver, one hell of a headache."

"Don't forget your collapsed lung."

Nick nods, "Oh, let's not forget that. Otherwise, I'm good."

"They cut you open, your heart stopped...." Diana says softly.

"Tetrodotoxin B. Slows the pulse to one beat a minute. Banner developed it for stress. Didn't work so great for him, but we found a use for it."

"No I heard it stop..." Diana stares at him angrily.

"Why all the secrecy? Why not just tell us?" Steve asks.

"Any attempt on the director's life had to look successful."

"Can't kill you if you're already dead. Besides, I wasn't sure who to trust." He shrugs, making Diana angrier.

Nick moves over to the table Steve and Diana were sitting at, showing them a photo of him and Pierce. "This man declined the Nobel Peace Prize. He said, 'Peace wasn't an achievement, it was a responsibility.' See, it's stuff like this that gives me trust issues."

Natasha shakes her head, "We have to stop the launch."

"I don't think the Council's accepting my calls anymore." Nick opens a case containing three chips.

Sam leans closer to look, "What's that?"

"Once the Helicarriers reach three thousand feet, they'll triangulate with Insight satellites becoming fully weaponized."

"We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own." Nick says.

"One or two won't cut it. We need to link all three carriers for this to work, because if even one of those ships remains operational a whole lot of people are gonna die."

Nick nods, "We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers is Hydra. We need to get pass them, insert the server blades, and maybe, just maybe, we can salvage what's left..."

"We're not salvaging anything. We're not just taking down the carriers, Nick, we're taking down Shield. Burning it to the ground." Diana growls.

"Shield had nothing to do with it. You know that." Nick sighs.

"She's right." Steve speaks up. "You gave me this mission, this is how it ends. Shield's been compromised, you said so yourself. Hydra grew right under your nose and nobody noticed."

"Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed."

"And how many paid the price before you did?" Diana asks.

"Look, I didn't know about Barnes."

"Even if you have, would you have told us? Or would you have compartmentalized that too? Shield, Hydra, it all goes." Steve puts his hand on Diana's shoulder.

"They're right." Hill agrees.

Nick looks at Natasha then Sam. "Don't look at me. I do what he does, just slower."
