Ghost King and Batfam

Pt.9

Nico's Pov 

The office was actually bigger than I had thought there were a lot of doors that just seemed to go on and on. Obviously it had a lot of money to begin with so it makes me wonder what happened to it. Not to say I couldn't put the pieces together but there are a lot of possibilities for why it closed. 

As I kept on walking through the building I started to notice certain things like how bits of the carpet have little dents in them like there was recently something heavy sitting on top of it. That struck me as very strange and from them on my guard was up just incase the fates decided I had, had enough good luck. Ever since I noticed the carpet I noticed other things like how furniture looked out of place like it was put there or moved. Now I'm wondering if maybe I wasn't the first to find a way in here, and that just creeps me out to realize I may not have been the only one sleeping in this building. I might just have to find a new place now which is so annoying and also very typical. 

Just as I was about to turn back to go and debate my options I heard a loud 'Thud' over near a window round the corner. 'Well shit' I thought that must be the person I was speculating about. What am I suppose to do know well I have to hid that's pretty obvious. I crouched behind one of those reception desks you find in hotels, why it's in a office building in a random room I haven't the foggiest idea but I'm just glad that it's close to me. 

The person who entered was mumbling something about "dumb rules" whatever that means, but he clearly didn't I was present which is wonderful. he was waling closer to the desk I was behind and I though he would come around for something but he just kicked the desk which confused me in till I heard a clicking sound right where I was hiding. Clearly this person has done some personal renovation to some furniture, interesting. 

It soon sounded like he was walking back tot he window he came in from, so I had the greatest idea to start crawling back to where I slept. Notice the sarcasm in voice? As I was getting closer to the door that will lead me to my area I guess my hand knocked over a wooden plank that was just standing! When I tell you heart matched the beat of the ghosts down in the underworld it is not a lie. The mumbling and footsteps walking around came to an instant stop, so I knew I was doomed. You might be asking "Why aren't you just shadow traveling back to your area?" (I really don't know what to call where Nico is sleeping so it's just gonna be called 'the area') well I would love to if it wouldn't kill me. I was working all day trying to get some info for a last minute job on my day off, but don't worry I made then pay extra.  

I heard heavy footsteps coming closer to where I was crawling and they spoke up saying "Oi, who's there!" what do I do should I answer, I mean I haven't done anything that should provoke him, should I risk my luck. Well knowing me my luck has already run out for now. before the mystery person can come closer or saying anything else i jump up and try to act innocent. I mean who would hurt a nice, harmless kid? Actually forget that this is Gotham I've learned no matter how you look anyone will hurt you. Well that doesn't mean I shouldn't try though right?? I'll just stick with this act in till in proves to be useless. "U-uhm sorry I didn't mean to alarm you I just thought I should go back to bed" I try to say with the utmost innocence I can muster "A-and the only reason I'm hear is cause I heard a noise and thought I was in danger" god that was hard to say, I don't think they even heard me since my head was bowed down. Standing up and finally looking at this new person I see that this is the infamous Red Hood.

Huh I wonder how this will go...

Sorry for the short chapter I just don't have too many ideas for how this interaction will go. But suggestions will be greatly appreciated if u want to add anything for this or for the future of the book. This chapter might also get more added to it when I come back to edit :)
