Part 43

After 7 years...

"Look who's back in town. If it isn't the undefeated Attorney.", Sunny started as I walk towards her table.

I laughed and slowly shook my head at her.

"Stop it.", I said and hugged her.

Gosh. It's been a while. The last time I saw Sunny was two years ago. We traveled to Japan just to take our heads off work.

"I missed youuuu!", she squealed as she hugs me tighter.

I laughed and hugged her as hard as I could.

"Now, I believe we have some catching ups to do.", she said. She tucked her hair at the back of her ears. I just noticed that Sunny colored her hair wavy hair light brown.

Well, it does suit her light complexion.

"What do you need to know? As if we're not calling each other daily.", I said, rolling my eyes at her.

She laughed. Sunny and I might have grown older, but we kept in touch.

We kept in touch for those seven years. I passed the Bar Exam and am now practicing law. Sunny, on the other hand, took Business Management and is now managing her Restaurant, this Restaurant.

Our order came so we started eating. Sunny ordered a lot of food. I don't even think we can finish all of this.

"So, did you find a buyer?", Sunny asked after a while.

I shook my head. "I received messages from different interested buyers but they can't take our offer. They're giving us cheap prices." I rolled my eyes.

The house isn't even old. And it's a 400 sq meter house. Those buyers are ridiculous.

"Do you need to sell it? I mean, where would you stay when you're in town?"

I thought about it for a second.

"I could stay in your house.", I said and she laughed.

"Oh, we could do that.  But I bet Henry would only allow it for a week.", she said about her husband.

"I bet he couldn't last even for a day."

We laughed cause we know Henry wants her for himself. Having me around means no Sunny for him. I remember one time I went back to visit Sunny, She slept in the guest room for two nights and Henry didn't like it.

I can't blame him. But I missed Sunny and we had to talk all night long.

In those seven years, I only went back twice for a week-long vacation. Of course, I was with Sunny during those visits. Mum hasn't come back since then. She built a new business in the UK and that's where she spends most of her time.

"Kidding aside, what do you need the money for?", she asked before she took a big bite of her pasta.

We just want to sell it. There's no need to come back here. Mum won't even consider the idea of going back.

"We're staying there for good," I said and she nodded slowly.

"Well, you could still visit me from time to time... orrrr, I'll visit you.", she said and grinned.

I laughed cause I know Henry won't allow her unless he was with her. We spent a couple more hours in the restaurant before I decided to go home and rest for a bit.

I got back in town yesterday but I'm too busy dealing with the buyers so I didn't have the chance to rest. I went straight to sleep when I got home.

I woke up at 7 pm when I heard footsteps and clamoring noises downstairs. I heard Lina's voice, our housekeeper.

She saw me and knew at once that she had woken me up. "I'm sorry Ms. Kryshia, I'm trying to cook dinner but I dropped the glass container."

"It's okay.", I said and went straight to the fridge to get some water.

I guess I couldn't go back to sleep now. I checked my phone to see if Sunny texted me. Just in time, I got a call from Van.

I answered it.

"Hey, where are you?", he asked.

"I'm home.", I mumbled. I put the glass on the kitchen counter and left Lina.

"I... have a client who's also--"

I cut him off. Not again.

"You followed me.", I accused and I heard him laugh.

This guy. He did what he said 7 years ago. He followed me wherever I go. He showed me that he's really sincere and he's sorry.

Who wouldn't forgive someone in seven years? I would be heartless if I kept on getting mad at him.

"It's not like that.", he said.

I didn't say a thing and he sighed. "Fine. I just want to make sure you're okay."

"I'm okay. You can go back now."

"I just got here! You're so cruel.", he made sure his voice sounded hurt.

I rolled my eyes upwards. What an actor.

He always does this when I go back to town. I appreciate his concern but there's no need for it. I know that he's still trying to pursue me and I did consider it but... we just won't click.

"Whatever. Do what you want.", I said and hang up.

Well, it's his life. I don't care.

While waiting for Lina to finish cooking dinner, I decided to watch TV. After eating my dinner, I still couldn't sleep.

So I decided to buy some beer. Hope that helps me go to sleep. I don't have any plans for tomorrow so I guess it's okay.

I took a cardigan from my suitcase and told Lina I'm going out for a walk. I didn't bring my car as I was planning to kill time. The convenience store is just 15 mins away from our house.

Besides, I missed this neighborhood. I looked around. Ghad, it feels nostalgic. Feels like it's just yesterday. I turned to a familiar street.

I smiled to myself. This is Tyler's house. The light is on but I don't think he's here.

The only news I have of him is that he's not living with Peter anymore. He studied at a University far from here and that's it. I don't want to know any other details of his life.

I also didn't see him during my visits here. I guess that's a good thing.

I reach the convenience store around 8:45 pm. I took three cans of beer and some chips. I strolled around the convenience store and found a pack of chocolates on the upper shelf.

Why do they need to put it there in all places? I tried to tiptoe to reach it but it was too high.

Just when I was about to give up, someone grabbed it from behind me. He put it in my basket.

"Oh, thank.....you."

I stared at the man in front of me in shock. He looked just as surprised as I.

Ghad, he still looks gorgeous. Maybe he can't believe I'm in front of him and that he just stared at me and didn't say a thing.

I broke the silence.

"Hey... long time no see...

Tyler."

Guys sorry I can't think clearly. I'm too tired lol so I just typed in what I want lol.
