Waking up the next morning my mood had drastically changed from the previous days, almost of the verge of giddy. So much when I bounded down the stair my mother said something.

"Well since your in a better mood would you like to come with me to Mary's she is making brunch. I'm sure Mark will be there." I Sigh.

"Mom I told you, me and him broke up weeks ago and there is no way on Earth we are getting back together. Especially now. I'm dating some one else." Her eyes widened and looked surprised.

"Oh you are? Do I know him? Is he on the basketball team." She tried to say casually but knowing my mother she was internally freaking out.
"There are some cute boys on the team. Is he in your grade. Underclassmen?"

"His name is Eddie. And no he doesn't play basketball." As I say the phone rings and I walk over to pick it up.

"Hello? Parker residence."
"Hey Sarah." I smile, I swear Eddie has perfect timing. Any time I talk or think about him he shows up.
"Hey Eddie." Soon as the words left my mouth my mother was by my side.
"So I have plans in a bit but I was wondering if you want to hang out later tonight."

"Oh what plans? D&D?" I ask.
"No actual I'm getting another tattoo."
"Another?" I hadn't know he had any.
"Yea I have a few on my chest. I have this idea for one on my arm." I'm trying to focus on what he is saying but my mother is tapping my arm frantically and motioning like she is eating.

"One second. What?, mother."
"Ask him to come over for dinner tonight. I would like to meet him. I bet your father would too." In my head I start cackling at the thought.
Of course the day Eddie gets a visible tattoo my parents wants to meet him. I wave her out of the kitchen and she leaves.

"Oh Eddie." I say with a laugh.
"What?"

"Oh nothing the day you get a tattoo, is the same day my mother wants to meet you." I say with a laugh but on the other end there is silence.

"She wants me to invite you to dinner." I add.
"Really? From what you've told me she has her heart set in you and mark. I don't think they will like me."

"It doesn't matter if they like you or not. I like you. You make me happy. And don't worry they would never be rude to you. They aren't that mean. And besides if they do try and say anything I'll tell them to F off."

"Oooh feisty." He teased.
"If you want me to meet them I will. I don't have to dress up do it?" I laugh I could see him in my mind him cringing that the thought of wearing dress clothes.
"Nope just as you are."
"Ok I'll be done around two or three. And then
I'll come over, we can meet the rental and hang out for a bit. Wait does this mean I can use the front door?" He jokes, making me laugh.
"Bye Eddie."
"Bye sweetheart." The minute the receiving hit the base my mom popped her head into the kitchen.
"Well is he coming?" She asks and I nod.
"Oh good." She claps. I sigh this is going to be an interesting night.

When his knock on the door came I sprang up, going to throw open the door my mother stops me.
"Let me get your father! We need to meet him as a family!" She yells as she runs to my fathers office. When she returns dragging my father looking "thrilled." She gives me the ok to open the door.  I opened the door to a smiling Eddie holding a small bunch of wildflowers. Throwing my arms around him, he whispers in my ear.

"They are the first ones I've seen this year, so I got them for you." He says before kissing my cheek and my heart melts. Pulling back blushing and taking them off him, I turn to let him in.

"Mom dad this is Eddie. Eddie this is my mom and dad, Linda and John Parker." Looking at my parents, my dad was his same indifferent self but my mom looked like a deer in the headlight, but I will say this her thousand watt smile never falters. My dad sticks his hand out and shakes Eddie's hand.
