Headaches | Chapter 1

It has been 2 years since it finally disappeared. Everyone was living their life normally again. Well, not exactly. Because of the breaks in the ground that everyone thought was an earthquake or an gate to hell, people couldn't go to many stores anymore, and didn't had much food, water or clothes. This wasn't new for the byers family though, they were used to having not enough clothes, food or water. Everyone seemed to have moved on from all of this, except Will. Will knew that it didn't fully disappear. Will knew it would come back someday, but nobody believed him.

Everyone, and with everyone i mean Joyce, Jonathan, Max, Dustin, Lucas and the rest kept telling Will that it was for real gone this time since El didn't fight The Demogorgon or MindFlayer, no, she fought Vecna. The monster who was behind everything. The only person who kind of understood him was Mike. Will's best friend since kindergarten, and Will was grateful for this.

Most people moved out of Hawkins, but the people who stayed had to sleep in different houses with literal strangers. Will was lucky that he didn't have to live with strangers, because he could live in Hopper's cabin in the forest with his mother Joyce, Hopper, his sister El and his best friend Mike. Jonathan, Nancy and Argyle? they slept in an hotel where many people also went to. It was the best option because there wasn't enough space for them in the cabin. Luckily, the byers +Mike could see Jonathan, Nancy and Argyle everytime they had to.

And what about the rest of the party? and Steve, Robin, Vickie and the rest? Don't even worry a bit about them. The rest of the party (so Lucas, Dustin and Max) were sleeping in houses with strangers, and Steve, Robin, Vickie and the rest slept in the hotel just like Jonathan, Nancy and Argyle. It was awkward for Max, Dustin and Lucas though, but it was the only way.

Forget the explanation, and let's get back to the story.

It was a sunny but cold morning, and birds were singing in joy in the beautiful trees. Will was sleeping in El's bedroom, and he was slowly waking up because of the birds singing. He was shaking of the cold, but if he had to be honest, he was used to it. Every morning he would wake up like this, and the rest too. Will slowly opened his eyes, revealing his beautiful dark green eyes. Will groaned and then sat up in his bed that actually used to be his sister's bed. He now looked down at the floor, just to find his best friend Mike Wheeler who was still sleeping in his sleeping bag.

Will turned his head back, and looked at his own legs that were still under the blue with white blanket. He rubbed his eyes and then got out of his bed and decided to try to wake up Mike. He sat down on the cold wooden floor next to Mike's sleeping bag and started shaking him, but there was no response at all. He was still in a deep sleep.

"Mike"

Will whispered softly so nobody else could hear it.

"Mike!"

Will whispered a little louder, but still no response. Will rolled his eyes but he decided to leave Mike so Mike could still sleep a little longer and just wake up by himself.

Will now walked out of the bedroom and tried to not make too much noise by opening the door of the bedroom since it was an old wooden door that made alot of noise, especially in moments it shouldn't, example: this moment. Moments when he tried to wake nobody up.

Will slowly walked to the kitchen, still trying to not make too much noise. The floor was very cold. Especially now since he wasn't wearing socks or anything else. Before Will entered the kitchen, Will looked around the house for a few seconds and he saw Hopper sleeping in his relaxing chair, and his mother was sleeping on the couch. El? El was allowed to turn the whole shed into her own special bedroom where she had her own clothes, enough lights, her own bed, some snacks and more. It also wasn't even cold in the shed which made Will a bit jealous sometimes, but he was happy that his sister could have this. She deserved it.

Will yawned, and then entered the kitchen. He now opened one of the doors of one of the wooden cupboards in the kitchen, and took pills for headaches. Yes, lately Will has been having alot of headaches, and he had no idea why. He didn't only have headaches, but he also got a blood nose out of nowhere sometimes. He found it very strange, but one thing he did know was that it sucked. The worst part was that these headaches just wouldn't go away, even if he took pills. His mother Joyce knew that her son had these really bad headaches and that they just wouldn't go away, but even though pills didn't help she recommended Will to keep taking the pills, so Will did. He wasn't the kind of boy who didn't listen to his mother. He actually hated disrespecting his mother. He always did what she expected and wanted.

Will put some of the pills in his hand, and then took a glass of water. He now put the pills in his mouth, then he swallowed them and then he drank some water. He took a deep breath, until a loud noise of a door slamming shut snapped Will out of his thoughts. "I'M SORRY, I DIDN'T MEAN TO--" Mike yelled and whispered in the same time. Good, it's just Mike. Will thought to himself.

"Finally woke up, sleepy head?" Will laughed while putting the glass of water in the sink so his mother could wash it and also put the pills away, back in the small wooden cupboard. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." Mike rolled his eyes, but he still gave Will a small laugh. Will walked out of the kitchen and walked to the living room, and looked at his mother and Hopper for a few seconds. They're still sleeping. Will thought in a relieved way, happy Mike didn't wake up his mother and Hopper by slamming the door shut.

Will looked at them a little longer, until he got a weird feeling. It were the really bad headaches again. Like i already mentioned, the pills didn't work a bit, which was very strange in his opinion. But not did Will only get headaches now, he also had a blood nose once again. Oh no, Mike will notice this for sure. Will thought to himself.

Mike now turned his head away from Hopper and Joyce, and looked at Will's nose. This wasn't just a normal blood nose, blood was streaming down his lips, and it also came on the wooden floor. "Will, you're nose--" Mike said in a worried tone, but the blood got only worse and worse with the second.

Will tried wiping it away with his finger, but this didn't stop the bleeding at all.

"Agh---' Will groaned in pain. Will never ever had a blood nose this bad in his whole life. Was this even healthy!? Or was this even possible!?

"Shit man, are you okay!?" Mike sounded way more worried now. He put both his hands on Will's shoulders, but Will was way too focused on his nose.

"Yeah, i'm okay--" Will obviously lied and Mike knew this. Mike walked away from Will for a while, and went to the kitchen. He grabbed some tissues, and then walked back to his best friend who's nose was still bleeding. It was less worse now though.

"Mike no, trust me i'm oka-" but before Will could even finish his sentence, he noticed how close Mike was standing. Mike had one of his hands on Will's shoulder, and with the other one he was holding a tissue. He wipped the blood away with a tissue, and this worked really well actually.

"Mike-..." Will said softly, looking deep into Mike's eyes, his cheeks a dark shade of red. "C-Can you please not stand so close..?" Will asked stuttering, Mike nodded. "Yeah. Yeah i'm sorry." Mike apologized.

Will's heart was beating like crazy right now. He knew that he shouldn't feel like this because of his friend, but he couldn't help it. He knew damn well he was in love with Mike Wheeler. He always knew this, but he shouldn't be. It's wrong to like the same gender, isn't it?

"I-I'll just go to sleep again for a little while. I-I think i need it..." Will said in an awkward way, still stuttering. Mike nodded as he threw the dirty tissue covered with blood in the trashcan close to him. "Yeah sure." Mike said, still nodding.

Will walked back into the bedroom, the door closed behind him. He sat on the bed, his legs and arms shaking a bit. Why do i feel like this around him? Will thought to himself. Why do i love him this way!? WHY!? Will was obviously mad at himself now. Will knew that Mike would never love him back in this way. Mike probably thought he was annoying and weird. Mike would feel disgusted if he knew about Will's feelings towards him. Will should just always keep these feelings to himself, because no way he was going to take this risk. No way.
