The talk | Chapter 16

*SMALL TIME SKIP*
It was a couple of minutes later, about 30 minutes later after Joyce has found out about Mike and Will's secret relationship. All Will and Mike could feel in the moment Joyce walked in on them kissing was fear. Only that. Mostly Will felt fear though, since Will has been dealing with homophobia since he was about 3 years old. His bullies Troy Walsh and James Dante, some strangers and even his own father Lonnie Byers all used to call Will really bad slurs, but also other homophobic words and things, and people still do, just not Troy, James and his father Lonnie anymore since they finally left Will alone since he was 12 years old.

In these 30 minutes Mike had finally ate his breakfast (eggos with syrup) at the dinner table, and he was now in the bathroom getting changed. He wasn't only getting changed, he was also taking a pretty long shower, brushing his teeth and brushing his hair. While Mike was in the bathroom, Will and his mother Joyce were sitting in Mike and Will's bedroom alone with the door shut so they could talk about everything in private. There was an pretty awkard silence and Will was again holding back tears, until Joyce started the conversation. "Hey sweetie, what exactly did you mean with kick you out of the house? I'm not like your father." Joyce asked and then Will turned his head to his mother. He was now facing his mother, and he took a deep breath.

"I- I just thought you would hate me for liking boys. Isn't that how it should be? judge people because they're different..." Will stuttered and Joyce shook her head. "No, not at all! You shouldn't judge people at all! Don't listen to those kids who bully you and your father." Joyce said, making her voice clear. The tears that Will was holding back again now rolled down his cheeks as he moved closer to his mother and gave her a huge hug. Will was so happy that atleast his mother supported him. He never thought he would have so many supportive people in his life. First his older brother Jonathan, then his best friend Mike who now actually became his boyfriend, then his sister El and now his mother Joyce. If Hopper and his friends Lucas, Dustin and Max supported him too then his life was just complete.

"I love you no matter what sweetie. If you like girls, boys, both or no one, i will always love you because you are my son and that will never change." Joyce said with tears in her eyes too now as she gave Will a kiss on the forehead. She was just so happy that she now finally knew what was going on between her son and his best friend and that Will felt safe enough around her to have this talk. This was actually also the first time Will allowed his mother to kiss him on the forehead since years, but that isn't really important right now. "Thank you so much mom." Will said, now finally letting his mother go and then he wipped the tears away from his face. "You don't have to thank me, it's no problem at all. I'm very glad that you felt safe enough around me to have this talk." Joyce smiled, Will obviously smiled back.

"One thing though, what are the scratches on your wrist and why the bandage around your arm?" Joyce asked and Will froze once again. Oh right. Now he had to make an excuse once again and lie to his mother again. "Uhm.." Will said and he then started thinking about an good excuse. After a few seconds, he finally had one. "When me and Mike were outside in the rain i fell and the sticks on the ground made those scratches on my wrist and about the bandage.." Will lied and then started thinking about an good excuse for the bandage. "A dog bit me outside when you, Hopper and El were getting groceries." Will lied once again, hoping his mother would believe it, and she actually did. The last excuse was kinda true though, someone did bit him while Hopper, his mom and El were getting groceries, just not a dog.

"Ohh ok. I hope you're doing ok. Anyway, let's go back to the living room, shall we?" Joyce asked and Will nodded. They now both got off of the bed they were sitting on and opened the door of the bedroom, then they walked out of the bedroom. "Hey Joyce! I think we forgot something from the store!" Hopper yelled from the kitchen. Joyce now walked away from her son Will and went to the kitchen where Hopper was. "What did we forgot?" Joyce asked. "Peanut butter." Hopper said while he showed Joyce an empty jar of peanut butter. He now walked to the sink and put the jar away. "Well then, let's go back to the store!" Joyce said. "Will, tell Mike and El we are going to the store, okay?" She added to her sentence. Will nodded.

Joyce and Hopper now walked to the front door and both of them put their jackets on that were hanging on the coat rack. They already had their shoes on since it was better to keep your shoes on inside because of how cold the floor was in this cabin. "Bye, Will." Joyce said before leaving the cabin with the front door closed behind her and Hopper. "So we're home alone now?" a voice said from behind him, making Will scream a bit. Wasn't he alone with Mike inside!? He turned around and saw that it was El. "WHERE DID YOU COME FROM!?" Will yelled at his sister, El laughed.

"I came from the back door! Calm down!" She laughed again but Will didn't really find it funny. His heart was in his throat. She may have powers but her coming out of nowhere will still be the scariest thing about her. Mike now also came out of the bathroom, his hair wet now and wearing a blue with black stripes shirt. (Similar to what he was wearing in season 4 episode 3). "What's going on? I heard screaming." Mike asked confused, making El laugh even more. "It was just Will being an pussy!" She laughed, making Will even more angry. "Oh shut up El!" He raised his voice, but of course he didn't mean it, he was just embarrassed.

"Oh. Hey uhm Will? Could we talk in private?" Mike asked. Will now looked at El, and El nodded in an go for it way. "Sure." Will answered. He now walked away from his sister El and went into the bathroom with Mike, the door closed behind them. "What's wrong?" Will asked and Mike took a deep breath, thinking if he should really say this. He looked down and then finally said what he wanted to say. "My answer is yes, Will. I wanna live together." Mike said, now looking at Will again. Will got very confused by what Mike just said, until he rememberd what he said about an day ago. Will felt happiness coming inside of him, and he was trying his best not to scream, even though he failed. "REALLY!?!" Will yelled and Mike nodded. "Yes!! I thought about it and i really do actually!" Mike said, his voice now getting a bit louder too.

Will ran to Mike and gave him the biggest hug he has ever given someone. His arms were wrapped around Mike's neck, and obviously Mike hugged back, his arms now wrapped around Will's body. "I love you so much Mike." Will said as he stopped hugging Mike, and then gave him a kiss, and of course Mike kissed back.

"I love you more."
