Nightmares and visions | Chapter 4

*NEXT DAY*
It was the next day now. Hopper, Joyce, El, Mike and Will all got home safely with the surfers boy pizza van and survived another night in this really cold cabin while Jonathan went back to the hotel. It was another sunny and cold morning, and once again, the birds were singing in joy outside. Mike has been awake for quite a while now, which was strange since Will would always wake up earlier than Mike, but this time Will was still in a deep sleep. While Mike was awake, he noticed Will shaking and moving in his sleep. Probably just a nightmare or the cold, right? well, he was so wrong about that.

Mike was reading a book in his dark blue sleeping bag, until Will got up really fast out of nowhere, gasping for air. He was breathing so loud and fast that it was like something just choked him, or he hadn't breath in 10 minutes long. "Will, are you okay!?" Mike asked in a worried tone but Will just sat there in silence, ignoring Mike's question.

"A nightmare..?" Mike asked softly. Will now turned his head to Mike, and now Mike realized Will was also sweating like crazy. He was having a cold sweat.

Will's eyes were wide open, and he finally calmed down a little bit now. Will just shook his head, and replied with: "No. This- This wasn't just a nightmare."

"Then what was it Will? What do you mean?" Mike started to sound pretty scared right now. Will would never do pranks on him, and he was also never really too dramatic about these things. Something was for sure wrong.

"I- I saw him. The MindFlayer. I was facing him, but he looked so different. He was bigger, more like an shadow, and he didn't really have a form yet. He was chasing me, and i just kept running and running. It happened in this forest, and it wasn't like in 1984, no, it happened now. Now in 1988. But trust me, this wasn't a nightmare. I actually heard him. I felt him. I saw him, Mike." Will said traumatized. He was so scared right now. No, it wasn't like a realistic nightmare where it seemed like you heard things, this was real, and he knew it meant something.

"What if it's him?" Will asked, almost in tears right now. Mike's eyes went wide. "No Will. I-It was just a nightmare." Mike said, stuttering also kinda in fear, and then continued reading his book. Woah. So even Will's best friend since kindergarten didn't believe him now? the truth was, Mike did believe him, but he was scared. He didn't wanna go through all this again. What if it will be worse than before? What if it for real kills everyone now? he didn't want to believe this, even though he was scared it was true.

Will just sat there in fear, still shaking a little bit. He just decided to get up and take his pills like usual. Will got off the bed and walked out of the bedroom, leaving Mike alone. Like yesterday and every other day, he tried to not make too much noise. He now walked into the kitchen, and opened the doors of the small wooden cupboard in the kitchen. Then he grabbed the pills and a glass of water. He put the pills in his mouth, swallowed them and then drank some water, leaving the glass in the sink as usual.

Again, he knew these pills weren't going to change anything, but he didn't wanna disrespect his mother, so he decided to just take the pills every morning. "Hey." Will heard a voice behind him. He turned around, and realized it was just Mike again. "I'm sorry if i came off as rude. I do believe you i just..."

"I don't wanna believe it. I don't wanna believe 001 is back." Mike explained and apologized, and Will totally understood him and also forgave him of course. "Look Mike, you don't have to apologize. I would have said the same thing if i was you." Will gave him a small smile and Mike smiled back. Suddenly the front door of the cabin opened which scared the shit out of Mike and Will, but they found out it was just El. Will's sister and Mike's girlfriend. She was already fully dressed. She was wearing a pink shirt with red lines and a white collar, and a gray skirt. She was also wearing her shoes, because of course she wasn't going to walk on dirt and leafs with only socks on. That was a gross thing to do.

"Woah El, you look beautiful as always." Mike gave El a huge smile. Ugh, not this couple stuff again. Will thought to himself. Everytime he saw Mike and El together he got so annoyed and mad. "You know what? i'm just going to get changed." Will said in an annoyed tone, and that tone made both El and Mike very confused, but Mike just nodded. Will now went back to the bedroom where he always slept with Mike, and opened the huge wooden closet to grab some clothes.

He grabbed a black oversized hoodie that was actually his older brother Jonathan's hoodie that Jonathan gave him a few months ago, he grabbed oversized jeans that were also Jonathan's jeans, and some of his own socks and underwear. He wanted to close the doors of the closet, until he heard a sound. A weird sound. It was the sound of an grandfather clock. Will got confused, because he knew damn well there weren't any grandfather clocks in this cabin. Will put the clothes on his bed, and walked out of the bedroom to see what it was.

But when he walked out of the bedroom, he realized nobody was in the living room anymore. No El, No Mike, No Hopper and no Joyce. Just him. All alone. Then Will realized. This happened the exact same way in 1984, but without the sound of the grandfather clock. It was him. He was back. Will was right all along. Will started shaking in fear again, but he decided to go outside to see if it was really him again. To see if it was really Vecna. Will slowly opened the wooden front door, and walked outside, but no red storm at all. Just a normal sky. Until...he saw something. He noticed that a grandfather clock was standing infront of him. Was it dumb what he was doing right now?

Will swallowed in fear, and decided to walk to the grandfather clock. When he was standing only about 30 cm away from it, he saw that the glass of the grandfather clock broke, and about 100 small black widows were now crawling out of the grandfather clock. It scared Will so badly that he ran away from the grandfather clock, back inside. But when he ran inside, he bumped into someone.

He looked up and saw it was Mike. "MIKE! WHERE WERE YOU!?" Will yelled in fear, making Mike even more confused. "I WAS RIGHT HERE! WHY DID YOU RAN OUTSIDE!?" Mike was so confused right now. He was in the living room the whole time and he even tried to get Will's attention by asking what he was doing. Was he invisible to him or something?

"N-NO YOU WERE GONE AND I-..." Will stopped talking, and noticed how close him and Mike were standing again. They were basically hugging each other at this point. Will's cheeks turned completely red again. "I couldn't find anyone. I-..All of you were gone!" Will was still shaking in fear. Vecna was now for sure back, and Will was so scared. "Let's go to the bedroom so we can talk, alright..?" Mike said, And Will nodded.

"Is he okay?" El asked Mike in a very worried tone, and Mike shrugged. "I don't know...Something happened. He said all of us were gone.." Mike answered El's question, and this kinda scared El. So Will really was right huh? Vecna was back.

*SMALL TIME SKIP/5 MINUTES*
Will and Mike were both sitting in the bedroom on the bed with the door shut, and Will was explaining everything that just happened. "And then black widows started crawling out of it. Mike, you need to believe me, i'm not insane..." Will said shaking and sweating like crazy now. Mike looked at the floor for a second, and then put his hand on Will's shoulder once again. "I believe you. I know you're not making stuff up. What kind of friend would i be if i did think that?" Mike said, holding Will's shoulder as tight as possible.

"A crazy one." Will laughed, Mike now looked down with a smirk and then said something he probably shouldn't have said. "They do say love makes you crazy ya know." Mike said, blushing and smirking while looking down. Wait a minute. Did he just say he loves me!? Or was he just joking or did i take it the wrong way? or did he meant friendship love? Will thought to himself. Will's eyes went wide, and he just turned his head away so Mike couldn't see how much Will was blushing right now.

They sat like this for a whole 10 minutes.
