Chapter 18: Awake

Cyber's POV

It had been two weeks since the rescue. Classes had started up again for Class 1-A, but they still visited the hospital every day after class and were there all day on weekends. It was 4:00p on a Tuesday. The League was already at the hospital when we got here, so was a girl with purple hair, and yellow eyes, who the students told me was called "Profile." Most of the students were in a now conscious Shoto's room, helping him with his schoolwork, since he still couldn't go to class. Kaminari and Jirou were helping Kaminari's cousin, Arashi? get caught up with her schoolwork.

Shoto had been taken off intubation a week ago. His grafts had been rejected and replaced with the laboratory grown skin grafts.

Shigaraki and Inasa had been discharged.

Dabi was still unconscious in the CCU. No visitors were allowed, but the League, Profile, and sometimes Hawks waited in the CCU. The students regularly asked for updates on Dabi's condition.

I don't know why they're so concerned about him. He's a villain. The kids said he was nice, but it was probably an act. It wouldn't surprise me if he set up cameras and mics around UA. There's no way he helped heroes out of the goodness of his heart.

I looked down the hall at the sound of footsteps. Who would it be this time? Doctors? Another patient's family? Nurses?

It was Hawks, and he was running, as he burst into Shoto's room, with me following close behind.

"Dabi's awake! The nurse said we can probably see him after the doctor's done. I've already called Destiny." With a quick nod from Shoto they ran in the direction of the CCU, Momo only stopping briefly to get Jirou and Kaminari.

Seriously! What is it these kids and that villain!? He's dangerous, and will probably stab them in the back, figuratively, literally, or both!

I sighed to myself as I started to help Shoto with his schoolwork.

Kanzen's POV

I had been doing a mission report in my office when Keigo called me, now I was running through the hospital. I got a bunch of annoyed stares, but I couldn't care less. If Dabi was up, I had to see him. He helped us so much, and then he risked his life for Keigo!

When I finally  got to the Cardiac Care Unit, Keigo, the Legue, 1-A, and the others from 744 were already there. I guess Gateway teleported them, because usually it's just Profile at the hospital.

"How long ago did he wake up?"

"Well," responded Keigo, "I called you right after he woke up, and even though it feels like it's been hours, my call records say about twenty minutes," he said, stretching out "say" as he checked. I had to agree with him. It did feel like hours since he called, and it felt like hours more, before the doctor finally came out and said, not only that we could visit two at a time, but that he would live.

He had requested Profile visit him alone first, and they talked for around ten minutes, before she emerged, and said Dabi wanted to talk to me and Keigo next.

Hey guys! Sorry this chapter's so short, but I have plans for the next one, that I think deserve their own chapter. Sorry, this took so long. In case you haven't noticed, I am really active, and then silent while I deal with writer's block, and then I'm really active, and then there's more writer's block.
