The Beginning of something Big

Come immediately.

That's what his note said. Along with a location. It was the giant bridge, that connected Piltover with the Undercity. I was wondering what the hell, he wanted there. I hope, he didn't plan to pay the Undercity a visit again, anytime soon. The last time, he went there, alone I might add, it ended in a disaster, the entire bridge had been closed off.
So naturally, I was worrying about him. I always worried about Viktor. He had a talent for getting himself into trouble. Intentional or not.

So, as I was making my way through the empty streets of Piltover, only occasionally encountering a cop or a pedestrian, my mind was racing. I almost slipped and fell multible times, before I finally reached the bridge.

It seemed rather empty. Not a single soul was to be seen. I could only make out a few cargo ships, making their way out into the open sea or towards the save haven of Piltover.
My head shot up as I heard a scream, that suspiciously sounded like Viktor. I promptly made my way across the bridge, looking for everything and anything. My heart stopped for a second, as I saw a figure standing a few meters away from the passage to the Undercity. At first, I thought it was Viktor, but that was impossible. The Person had no cane and they were leaning down on their knee's, panting like they had run a marathon just minutes ago.

"Excuse me?", I mumbled and stepped forward,"Have you seen my friend? He is rather lanky, but tall. And he walks with a cane."
I heard the Person chuckle, as they got up. It sounded familiar, but that couldn't be, could it?
"I won't need that cane anymore", he mumbled and stepped out of the shadow. I gasped, as I finally realized, that it was indeed Viktor, who was standing in front of me. Now that he was able to fully stand up straight, his form hovered over me, as he stepped closer.

"Viktor!", I gasped,"How did you-"
I was at loss of words. I still wasn't fully understanding, how Viktor was able to stand here right in front of me, without his cane, when mere days ago, he fainted in the lab and woke up in the hospital, with a final diagnose.

"Hextech", Viktor mumbled and pointed at his leg. I kneeled down, as he kept on explaining.
"I used the runes and spells to create what we had always dreamed about", he smiled.
I carefully eyed his leg. In contrast to his usually very pale skin, his leg glimmered in a dark purple, his veines poking out of his skin. I noticed the Runes he was talking about. They were carved into his prosthesis. I lifted my hand and softly ran my fingers over them. They started glowing under my touch. I stared at his work in awe, until Viktor's hand grabbed mine and he pulled me to my feet again.

"I finally did it, Y/N", he smiled shyly,"All those years of work, all those countless hours at the lab, trying over and over to solve this, all for this moment"
I reciprocated his smile and raised my hand to caress his cheek. Viktor closed his eyes and leaned into my touch.
"I'm proud of you, Viktor. So incredibly proud. You put so much work into this, you deserve it. And the people you're going to save. This is the beginning of something big!"
"Thank you", Viktor replied and opened his eyes.

"So!", I grinned,"Show me what you can do with that new leg!"
Viktor shyly  smiled at me, before throwing his arms around my waist, pulling me up into the air.
I laughed, as he twirled me around. It felt a litle bit weird to see Viktor so strong, stronger then he had ever been.
As he carefully lowered me back down, I couldn't help myself and threw my arms around him in delight, a grin still big on my face. I felt how Viktor gently returned my hug, his arms encircling my waist, as a low chuckle left his lips.
After a few seconds, I reluctantly pulled back to look at Viktor. He looked even more beautiful with such a big smile on his face. He looked so happy, happier than he had been in years.

"It suits you", I said, after a few seconds of us just looking at each other.
"The leg?", Viktor asked curiously.
"No, silly", I giggled,"Your smile! I missed it"
I saw  how a deep blush crept up Viktor's neck, as he looked down to hide his embarressment.

I felt bold in that moment, so I leaned forward and softly kissed his cheek, my lips lingering on his skin for a second, before I pulled back.
Viktor blushed even more and I giggled at him. He was cute, when he was nervous.

"Thank you, Y/N",Viktor finally said. I could feel his hands tremble on my waist,"Thank you f-for always supporting me and being t-there for me"
And then he did something, neither of us expected. He leaned forward and sheepishly pressed his lips to mine. It was a short and gentle kiss, but I still felt, what he was trying to say. I sensed his gratefullness, his passion.

"Thank you for letting me be a part of it, Viktor", I smiled, as I pulled back. I leaned my forehead against his and closed my eyes, my hands still around his neck.
"I can't wait for Jayce to see this, he's not gonna believe it", I mumbled.
I heard Viktor chuckle and he nodded:"No, no he won't"

A/N: I am sorry if this is a little bit shitty, it worked way better in my head, but I am little bit bothered with a headache rn, which doesnt exactly make it easier:/
