  Backache

Ever since Cliff Steele entered our weird little family, my days had been filled with much more yelling and screaming than before. Right now, for example. As Cliff had asked me again to sneak out to town to get him more toy-cars.

"I told you, I'm not doing it", I hissed, as I walked into the common room, closely followed by the robot man.
"Oh come on, Y/N. It'll be the last time, I promise", he begged, grabbing my shoulder. I spinned around, slapping his hand away:"You and I both know, it won't be the last time!"
Cliff only sighed, seemingly defeated, but as he raised his hands once again, to say something, Rita and Larry entered the room.

"What's going on in here?", Rita asked, clearly annoyed by all the tumult.
"Ask Cliff", I sighed and pointed at him,"He's been annoying me the entire day."
"Annoyed you with what?", Larry asked, his face turning from me towards Cliff.
Cliff looked down, seemingly ashamed:"I want new cars."
I heard Rita chuckle, as I made my way towards Larry. She was obviously amused by this never ending debate.

"Need help with your Plants?", I asked Larry. He only nodded, already knowing that I just wanted to get away from the others.
"I can't believe that you keep asking them for that. Just because they're the Only one of us who can go out without the chance of something horrible to happen, doesn't mean you can send them off buying something for you all the time!", Rita complained, as Larry and me made our way outside to the old schoolbus, where he kept his plants.

" How's your head doing? ", Larry asked, as we entered.
" Better than usual ", I mumbled, busying myself with a Lilly," Only had to take the light painkillers today."
"That's good I guess", Larry smiled. Or so I assumed, as he handed me a watering can.

"How's it going with your pal?", I asked in return.
"The usual", Larry said, "But spending time with you seems to calm him somehow."
I smiled, as I turned around to look at him. Larry almost seemed nervous, like he was afraid of what I would say.
"I enjoy spending time with you too", I mumbled, "Thanks for saving me by the way. I really didn't want to go into town."
"It's nothing", Larry waved off, "You're my friend, so of course I'll help you."

Hearing someone say that they actually considered me as a friend, almost made me tear up. I haven't had that in a long time. The chief was the first person I had started to trust again after my incident. Or much rather, my run in with Kipling and let's just say, the creature he was dealing with at the time, wasn't really nice to me. In fact, it thought that I'd be a nice host for it. And to this day, we didn't really know what it could do. All I knew is that it gave me headaches send from hell and the ability to control other people's blood. Weird, I know.

"Y/N?"

I looked up from the watering can, which I had stared at for the last minute, only to see a rather concerned Larry.
"Are you alright?", he asked, "You didn't say anything..."
"Thank you, Larry", I mumbled, a small smile on my face, "I consider you a friend too."
He only nodded, not really knowing what to say, so I just took the initiative and stepped forward to hug the tall man. He was surprised at first, but quickly adjusted and hugged me back. And with the way he hugged me, I felt that he needed it just as much, as I did.

As we parted, I could only presume that Larry smiled under his bandages.
"You want tea?", he asked, his voice exited.
I chuckled:"With cookies and a trashy tv show?"
"You read my mind", he laughed and grabbed two cups, he kept next to the seeds and tools for the plants.
"I'm glad, that you have this bus", I mumbled, as we had sat everything up in the backseats, a small TV resting on the table, that was installed on the seat in front of us.
"Me too. It's nice to get away from the mansion for a while", Larry agreed as he sat down in the windows seat.
"Oh, how right you are", I smiled as I scooted into the seat next to him.
"Cheers", he uttered and raised his cup.
"Cheers", I repeated and clinked my tea cup against his.
We fell into a comfortable silence, as the TV show started to play and as we slowly emptied our cups, the sun started to set on the horizon.

Cliff couldn't really believe, what he was doing right now. Apologize? For what? That's what he had asked Rita. Because in his eyes, he didn't even do anything wrong, but she insisted that he apologized to Y/N for his earlier made request.

"This is so stupid", the robot man mumbled to himself, as he knocked on the front door of the old school bus.
"Y/N? Larry? You guys in there?", he asked, but even after waiting for several seconds he got no answer. Cliff thought about just going back to the manor for a second, but ultimately decided against it, as he didn't want to hear Rita's complains again.

"Fuck it", he sighed and decided to just enter the bus. He tried to be as quiet as possible, in case that he was trespassing boundaries here, but as Cliff had entered the bus, the first thing he saw, was nothing.

Not one light was on inside of the bus. After looking around for a second, Cliff spotted a small source of light, which was a tiny TV that was situated at the end of the bus. And only upon coming closer, Cliff realized that two of his friends were asleep right in front of it. He spotted Larry first, his head leaned against the windows of the bus. Only then, Cliff saw Y/N, who had their head laying on Larry's shoulder, snuggling into the fur of his coat.

"Would you look at that!?", Cliff whispered. If his face would've allowed it, he would've smirked.
With a swift motion of his left hand, he turned the TV off and made his way back out of the bus, leaving the two alone.

"They're going to have one hell of a backache tomorrow"
