Written September 16th, 2022After Remus processed the fact that Y/N was bound to marry one of her gods, he felt nauseous. He understood one thing for sure, that she was an innocent girl, deceived into gaining power to protect her family. And being bound to be the wife of a false creature that she never worshipped before.
He didn't care about the fact that Y/N wanted to distance herself, for her own safety. But he couldn't get it in his mind, that she pushed herself away, because she feared consequences to something she never agreed on.
A few hours later, he found himself in the library, on a mission to find a spell so she could hide. But his plans were forgotten when he saw her sitting there, reading a book while being seated in a closed off corner of the room.
Y/N looked up, already sensing he had arrived. He moved closer, seeing that Y/N was doubting to leave. But she chose to stay either way. "May I?" He referred to the empty chair besides her, and Y/N nodded her head yes.
"I am sorry if I made you feel uneasy before." The sympathy was clear on his voice, Y/N just smiled. "I can only understand that you are curious. I mean, I did feel slightly uncomfortable, but you had every right to ask." She looked down at the books that were sprawled open, alchemy books for very limited potions.
"Could-" She slapped the books shut as Remus tried to read them, "Could you just keep this for yourself?" He nodded, covering her hand with his own, reassuring her that her secret was safe with him.
"What are you doing here?" He asked as he tried to snatch a book from her. "Trying to find a solution."
"For what?" He swiftly moved, taking one of the stack as he twisted through the variety of potions. "What are you trying to do?" He already knew when he flicked through the pages. He just wanted to hear it come from out of her mouth. "Something to make life... easier." She looked aside, shame filling her features.
"Are you trying to get rid of your vampirism?" Y/N didn't dare to look up, knowing Remus would be ashamed of her. "You can't change who you are, Y/N." Within seconds she turned out to be annoyed. "If you had the change to cure your lycanthropy, would you not take it?" Before Remus could talk her out of it, Y/N snapped again.
"Thought so too."
"But you aren't even sure that this will work! There is no effective cure for Lycanthropy, nor there is for vampirism." He sounded so sure of himself. But he was right in a way, here at Hogwarts, there was indeed no full cure for his disease. Let alone something for vampires.
"There is one, where I come from." She mumbled, knowing fully that she can't do that or she will be discovered. "What do you mean?" Y/N looked up, blinking once to see if she heard him right.
"What I just said I meant? There is a cure. Both for Lycanthropy and for Vampirism." Remus was now intrigued to hear, but she knew she shouldn't have brought it up. "No, I'm telling you, no way."
"Why bring it up?"
"Why don't you let it go?" She was ready to take her leave, but was pulled back down. "Why don't you use the cure you already are aware of?" Y/N sighed, conjuring a ruined book. Pages were ripped, the cover sat full of stains and had multiple little torn pieces.
"It needs a black soul gem to work." She opened it carefully, flipping to the correct page as she pointed to the list of ingredients. "A gem? Sounds easy enough-"
"Not just a gem, Remus. A black soul gem. First of all I need to find one, and secondly-" She bit her tongue, scared to speak. "And?"
"In order to fill that gem, I need to kill multiple people. Preferably Dremora, they are useless in my opinion. But he will know." Closing the book, she used her magic to let it disappear once again in thin air.
