"No, but listen, if Dumbledore was such a great man, why did he not go and check on Harry, it's obvious that the Dursley's were abusive to Harry in some way." Prue said to Jay as they walked along the street, it being Jay's day off, and Prue didn't really want to be stuck inside all day, so Voight allowed her to go and hang with his detective.
"But he helped fight Grindelwald, isn't that something." Jay said to the girl.
"Ha! He let Newt Scamander and his group do everything before he finally stepped in, he also raised Harry to be a sacrificial lamb." She pointed out. "Had Harry been raised by McGonagall; Voldemort would have been defeated way earlier. Plus, Sirius could have been freed earlier because Dumbledore had the power to have a trial for him, he also never had a trail in the first place." Prue continued. "That is why Dumbledore isn't all great, he has some good things about him but also bad, everyone has some good and bad, it's just how it is represented at times." Prue finished as Jay handed her a cup of hot chocolate, the two having gone for a walk in a park close to Jay's place. "Like he's a great man but I wouldn't name my child after him. Especially Snape, he was horrible."
Jay thought over her words for a moment. "You know what, I get it." Jay said to her with a nod of his head.
Prue and Jay continued to chat about their likes and dislikes, the young girl was having a brilliant time, she hadn't been feeling her best after the gang shot up the diner her and Voight were in, but she was happy that Jay was still taking things slow for her. Even Voight, the older man was being so sweet, she had missed what that was like, having someone care. She honestly thought she would be alone for good after leaving her dimension, leaving her family and friends behind. But she needed this, this normalcy. The two kept walking as they laughed, Prue telling Jay about the time her brother had built a play sword to fight off an evil monster that was under her bed. Then staying in her room to protect her.
"Your brother sounds amazing." Jay said to her.
Prue smiled sadly. "He really was amazing." She whispered wiping a tear away from her face. Sniffling softly, Jay swung his arm around her shoulder as she leaned into the touch. "I miss him." She whispered.
"I know you do popstar." Jay whispered, the girl giggling at the nickname. Having been in the breakroom one day, Prue had gotten extremely bored and decided to have a karaoke performance. Jay walking in on her belting out 'It's my Life' by Bon Jovi. And thus, her nickname was born. Wiping her cheeks to get rid of the tears she smiled brightly, as the two kept walking, Jay letting the girl go as she skipped.
"Skip with me!" She shouted holding her hand out. Jay laughed as he took her hand and the two skipped through the park laughing happily. What neither noticed was Gabriella Dawson and the rest of 51 having a barbeque. Dawson stared the brunette girl down as Jay said something to her, leaving her alone.
Prue sat smiling waiting for Jay to come back with ice cream for the both of them. She hummed softly as she watched families play in the park. She frowned as someone stepped close to her, rolling onto her back she flipped herself onto her feet, ready to run, until she saw an almost familiar face. She was still tense though.
"Sorry, for startling you, I'm Gabriella Dawson, Antonio's sister." Dawson greeted holding her right hand out for Prue to shake. But Prue narrowed her eyes at the woman, she wasn't sure of her at all. Dawson awkwardly put her hand back down, as Prue continued to glare at her. "I just wanted to see how you are, after what happened at the diner."
"I'm cool." Prue said with a shrug.
"My partner was Brett, the one who worked on you." Dawson responded.
"Cool."
Dawson saw she wasn't really getting anywhere with the girl, so she decided to shoot her mark. "Do you know who you're staying with, like really know?" Dawson questioned. Prue didn't say a thing, of course she did, she hacked into the database one day and learnt everything that Voight had done. Of course, she hated it, but it's not her life, she is not his mother. Or his boss. "You know he tried to have someone killed, someone in my firehouse, right." She continued, but Prue didn't say a thing. "Has he told you, you're safe, at all, because you aren't, I can help you get out." Dawson continued.
Prue's eyes became colder as the woman spoke. "I don't want your help." She said firmly. "I want you to go away actually." Prue stated, as she stepped back, shooting her eyes in the direction Jay went, to see him making his way back to her with their ice cream. "It was not nice talking to you, bye." She said quickly before rushing away, but Dawson reached out trying to grab her arm, Prue reacted changing the direction of her own arm, latching her hand on the older woman's wrist, and bringing her to her knees, as she bent it back, ready to snap it. "You have no right to touch me." She growled.
Jay seeing what was happening ran over with wide eyes. "Prue let her go!" Jay called out, catching the 51st attention, the crew running over.
"Well, she shouldn't try to latch onto a minor!" Prue shouted angry. "And she shouldn't be talking about someone she barely knows, to try and scare me!" She continued letting her go, as she stepped behind Jay. Jay frowned at what Prue said. "If you don't believe me." She started.
"I believe you; you don't do that out on a whim." Jay said to her.
"Either way, my phone is recording everything, she came up to me, and tried to scare me about Voight's past." She whispered to Jay as one of the men knelt next to Dawson checking her over.
"What the hell is your problem!" An older man shouted at the girl.
"My problem is people thinking it's okay to grab someone!" She shouted back annoyed. "I was just shot at, and she thinks it's okay to grab someone, I'm already freaking out with being out in the open!" Prue continued to shout.
"Okay relax!" Another man shouted, his tone firm, he was likely the Chief if Prue thought about it. "Dawson, what were you thinking?" The man asked the woman.
"What was I thinking, she's a kid stuck with a man who will do anything to get what he wants, probably even have her killed." Dawson stated to them.
"It's not your decision to make though is it!" Prue cried out. "I can make my own choices and I can protect myself perfectly fine!" She screeched; she was really angry now. "I've been through enough in my life, the one good thing so far is having Voight as a parent! He listens to what I have to say, and he never treats me like a kid, because he knows me, unlike you!"
Jay hushed Prue as she clung onto him. Her face was turning red from anger as Jay pulled her into his chest, hiding her face. "Dawson, stay away from Prue, she knows, she learnt everything by herself, even when Voight was going to tell her everything, he was going to give her the choice to leave or stay. Prue is a genius. She could be living in a mansion on her own if she wanted to, but she chose to have a family." Jay said to the brunette woman. "If I see you near her ever, we are going to have problems, I'll be telling Voight as well." Jay finished before turning away and pulling Prue along with him.
