Voight, Antonio and Jay were sat in Voight's office, as Jay told them what had happened today at the park. Prue having not wanting to do anything with the chat as she didn't want to get mad again, was sitting with Erin, the older woman talking about the latest trends, Prue was surprisingly a fashionista. The two were giggling softly as they talked about a hideous orange dress they had seen in the magazine. The atmosphere with the girls was happy. But inside Voight's office it was a mixture of emotions.
"Gabby seriously did that?" Antonio questioned. Jay nodded. "Dammit, why would she?"
"She thinks she was protecting Prue by trying to tell her what Sarge has done in the past, but as we all know Prue beat us to the punch." Jay said shaking his head. "She also said her phone recorded everything, even when she hadn't turned it on."
"Her phone records everything as a security purpose. It's so if I need to log onto the phone from mine and I can gather the intel if something happens to her, it also tracks her even when off." Voight explains to them. "I asked her for all the security information that her phones does. She had to build me a phone like hers, she's actually doing it for everyone in the unit." Voight stated showing his newly built phone.
Jay and Antonio smiled at that, Prue was building something for them, when she had never wanted to dot hat for anyone, ever. It made them feel better. "I'll have a talk with Gabby, and I can give her everything that the agent who was working on the adoption to her as well, so she knows a human being actually approved this, I'll black out their name though, so she doesn't go and corner the poor agent." Antonio said to the pair. Voight nodded his thanks as they stepped out to see Chief Boden being led into the room by Trudy.
Prue saw the man but didn't react, just focused on Erin, the woman showing her a new online clothing store, she really liked the looks of skirts they had.
"Chief Boden." Voight greeted with a nod to the man.
"Voight," Boden says back.
"Pleasure to see you, but why are you here?" Voight asked as he smiled at Prue as she giggled with Erin.
"I came to apologise on Gabriella's behalf, I knew it best to keep her away from Prue. I know it probably doesn't fix anything, but I want Prue to know that she can still trust the 51st." Boden said to the group.
Prue pursed her lips before speaking up. "I was always going to trust you guys, no matter what, but if anything, I never want her to come near me, not for a while at least, I know she's Tonio's sister and I would never cut off family, but it will take time."
"Of course, you are welcome to visit the 51st whenever you like kid, and if Voight's okay with it, I'll give you my personal number so you can me to tell me you're coming round." Boden said smirking at the girl.
"I'd like that." Prue said smiling gently. "Do you have anything broken by any chance?" She asked suddenly.
"Many things, not like anyone will come fix it though." Boden stated.
Jay looked over at the girl, as her eyes darted to him with excitement. Jay sighed as he turned to Voight. The older man nodded to him. "Would you mind if we came along, Prue's a tech genius." Jay said to Boden.
Boden frowned but nodded his head, trusting Jay. "Alright just follow me in your car." Boden said as Prue squealed in excitement and rushed to her bag, her tool kit inside already.
"Be home at 6." Voight called out to them.
"Okay dad!" Prue called back not thinking about what she said.
Voight stood frozen in the room his team the same. "She called you dad." Erin muttered.
"She was excited, she probably didn't realise." Voight said still in a bit of shock.
"Uh nope, Jay just texted me telling me Prue's freaking out, she says she wanted to call you that for a while but wanted to do it at a special moment. Like a surprise thing." Adam stated. "I was also not meant to 'say' anything."
Voight smiled gently before shaking his head and walking into his office and closing the door behind him.
Now at the 51st, Prue had calmed herself down and was walking beside Boden as he showed her one of the computer's that had died suddenly. Prue listened to the problems it had, had, so she got her tool kit and goggles out. Opening it up. "Wow, this thing is so screwed." She muttered as she started fiddling with the mother board. "Like it's a good computer, but they seem to have given you an actual dodgy one." Prue continued to explain. "This thing was never meant to be alive if I'm being honest."
Boden frowned hearing what she had to say. "Do you think the people we bought this from made it faulty?" He asked her.
"Yep, it was so that you would have to buy more, I'd recommend not getting anything more from these guys." Prue said to the Chief. "I can fix this though and have it working like it was brand new." Prue stated as she continued to fix the computer. Boden nodded as the girl continued with fixing the computer, Jay right beside her as he kept an eye out for Gabby. "Done!" Prue cheered as she sat up and turned the computer on. The thing turning on and functioning perfectly. "I also may or may not have made it so much faster." She said grinning manically. Boden chuckled in disbelief as he nodded seeing everything working perfectly.
"Good job." He spoke. "Can you fix other things, other than a computer?" He asked her.
"Chief, she's a literal genius." Jay said with a smirk. Boden was delighted and showed Prue to another broken device, the coffee machine. "Ah, I understand the need for this to be top of the list." Jay chuckled.
Prue rolled her eyes before picking the heavy machine up and carrying it over to the island. The two men stood in surprise at the girl carrying the machine. But she ignored them as she started to work on it.
"Hey Chief." A man called out smiling, until he saw Prue and Jay. "Why are you here?" He asked crossing his arms.
"Severide." Boden said with a warning tone.
"Fixing the coffee machine," Prue answered. She looked at the man smiling gently. "Sorry for hurting your friend, but I have had a shit life, parents died when I was young, brother died protecting me, my uncle died when he was picking my brother up, and my aunt died from a fall. I just got shot at and being out in the open spooks me, Jay was trying to show me it was okay. So, I may have reacted badly, but she shouldn't have tried to grab me." Prue stated with a cold look in her eyes.
"But you do know about Voight?" He asked gently.
Prue smiled. "Yeah. I hacked into the station's database, I wanted to know who I was living with, and I saw what he had done, we fought about it, I was upset, but it's in the past, Voight's been nothing but good to me, and that's something I've been wishing for, for years." Prue whispered. "He gave me the choice, I have a high IQ, so I know my rights from my wrongs, but the thought of being away from Voight, made it scarier. He wants to keep me safe; we have everything in place for anything dangerous. We're prepared." She finished before going back to the coffee machine.
"That is an understatement." Jay muttered.
Severide watched the girl before sighing. "Please hurry with the coffee machine, I miss good coffee." He said making the girl giggle happily.
"It's done anyway." She said as she carried it back to its original place, and plugged it in. "Enjoy." She said before walking out with Jay and Boden.
