At home, her parents haven't arrived - great because she didn't want to encounter them.
She went back into her room continuing what she did before Mrs. Pepperwood asked her to come over - lay in bed - and preparing herself not to go out of her room for the next 100 years.
She forgot to lock the door of her room because it didn't take long before Joshua let himself in and decided to lay beside her in bed.
"Celine, what's wrong?"
She didn't answer.
"You helped me to deal with my drama, I want to help you in return, big sis in age."
She didn't know what to answer to that, should she tell him everything or nothing? But although Michael is a dick- a big one - she knew as soon as she mentions his name, Joshua wouldn't just take it, he would do unpredictable things with him, but nothing nice.
But she needed to tell someone what happened although it isn't the whole truth.
"I had a crush on a boy for a while, nothing serious, I guess. I got to know him at the party I went to a few days ago, he was the one to drive me home that night. Before we said our goodbyes, he invited me to one of his games. I thought it would be attentive to make him a little self-made present I spent hours on, a night light to be precise. To summarize everything, I went to his home yesterday evening and gave him this present. He humiliated me saying I am an ugly historian freak, unworthy of his love, and destroyed the night light in front of me..."
The tears were barely held back. At that Joshua embraced her in a hug but didn't say anything, his anger radiating from him but for her sake just held her until Celine finally fell asleep.
On the next morning, Joshua was gone and when she looked at the time it was the beginning of the second period, math probably. Today she wouldn't go to school either. Seeing Michael somewhere wasn't on her priority list of things to do in the near future.
He's even probably skipping school again just to fuck his new girlfriend... or whatever that bitch is to him.
With the last strength she got, she stood up to freshen herself up.
Staring at the reflection of the mirror, all her mascara was under her eyes and cheeks.
When even was the last time she took a shower or a bath?
She doesn't have much to do anyway so she took a wellness bath to relax and forget about her problems for a while and more importantly, wash the sweat of the past days away.
Being done, she felt surprisingly refreshed and got a little more power to live through the day.
Going back to her room. The first thing she looked at was her bag where the book still is, forgotten to unpack it.
She was debating if she even should. It was just wrong of her to steal a book in the first place. But going back and confessing isn't an option either.
Deciding to get the book out off her bag, Celine intentionally wanted to put it on her shelf but the sudden sickness and urge to read it overcome her.
The curiosity, or whatever that is, got the best of her. With the book in hand, she went to her desk and opened it.
On the first pages, there was absolutely nothing, just emptiness. Flicking through more bizarre drawings of what seemed to be people screaming and begging. Horrific Creatures appear - some torturing souls, others eating people whole. Different pentagrams were depicted, too.
Disturbing.
The best word fitting to describe what she's looking at. But for some reason, Celine couldn't bring herself to close it and eventually even burn this book.
