In the midst of time, it felt like an eternity. Blade and Celine seemed to fit well together. His dark and malicious side contrasted with her fun and light-hearted ways. In all these years, it had felt like they were a couple, or at worst, enemies.
Yet Blade had never once broken her heart again, like he did over a millennium ago.Gazing at her reflection in the mirror, she admired her crimson gown and expensive-looking jewelry. She had her hair up and looked stunning as always. She appeared to be more than powerful, to the point that she could not recognize herself. "I want to visit Earth again, to experience history just before you take my soul as we made the deal." Upon noticing a dark mass moving toward her from behind in the mirror, Celine spoke.
She turned to find Blade standing just in front of her, a mere inch separating them. He hesitated for a moment before answering, as though there was something she didn't know. "Your light blonde hair looks well complemented by the red necklace. You appear to embody grace and elegance."
"I am serious, Blade. "I have the right to leave Hell." She took a deep breath. "I want to live life before my soul gets taken and will be tortured to the end of time." Blade turned his head away from her and refused to look at her. "What about a few more years on my side? You have lived longer than any other mortal and will continue to do so for a long time. "Why the rush to leave?" "It is time for me to go." Celine requested determinedly. "Are you leaving me?" Blade gazed back at Celine.
"What? No. I just want to live on Earth again for some time." She expressed her confusion over his peculiar behavior.
Holding out his hand, Celine observed how a beautiful bracelet with red and blue jewels appeared in his hand. "Give me your hand." He implied. As she did as she constructed, he put it on her. "This, my Cinderella, will allow you to enter earth and my domain in hell whenever you please." Celine didn't answer, just admiring its beauty. "And what if I lose it?" Blade slightly chuckled at her question. "You will find it in your pocket. It has a spell, so you would never lose it. And only you and your blood are able to open the portal."
Looking into his eyes, she felt how her heart rate went up. "Thank you," she said, smiling up at him.
"I need to go now. I have business to attend." Business. The only business a demon had was making deals and torturing souls. Pushing the thought aside, she smiled up at him again. "Yeah, sure. See you soon." Blade felt her discomfort and slightly touched her cheek. "Don't pretend. I dislike your forced smiles." With these words, he disappeared.
Now Celine was all alone and realized she forgot to ask an important question. How was she supposed to open the portal? Looking at her bracelet, she said, "Portal, go open yourself." Nothing happened. "Take me to Earth." Also nothing. Exasperating, she shook her bracelet and let out a loud sigh. She was trying to come up with all different ways; even Latin didn't work out. Then, randomly, as she held out her arm, pointing in a random direction, she didn't even say anything but thought about the earth. Suddenly, a portal appeared in front of her. She made it.
"Going inside, she found herself in a forest. It seemed to be autumn since almost no trees had leaves, and the temperature was low." At least it was a sunny day, she thought to herself. Going for a walk and breathing in fresh air felt awesome.
Eventually, Celine stumbled upon a small village nestled at the edge of the forest. The sight before her was a stark contrast to her own regal appearance. The villagers wore tattered clothes with visible holes; their faces were gaunt and marked by the harshness of their lives. Every person she passed seemed underweight, their eyes hollow and lifeless.
