RUBY PATEL IS BACK IN LUKA URBAN'S LIFE. COULD THEY BE REKINDLING THEIR LOVE?

"Is Luan okay?" asked Arlo through the phone.

"Yeah, he's fine," answered Kara through the other side of the phone. "Minor injuries."

"I still can't believe it was one of those Haitian girls who attacked him. I thought Leonie was supposed to recruit them."

"She can't seem to find them. After they made their appearance in the new armor, they went into hiding. The Dependency attack was a mess. Throughout the chaos we weren't able to arrest a single person of importance. The Kallstrom siblings got away and we didn't even see the Agent of Dependency who was supposedly there."

"But no one was injured?" asked Arlo.

"Only Luan with his bumps and bruises. The arm-cannons give our enemies too much of an advantage."

"So the Haitian girls sided with Dependency?"

"No, they were killing Dependency, but they also went after Delfina which put them in conflict with us. We basically had a three way battle going on over here."

"Did Delfina get out of there without incident?"

"Sadly, yes." Kara and Arlo shared a laugh.

"That's disappointing."

"Tell me about it. How are you two holding up?" asked Kara.

"Not bad," answered Arlo as he looked at Luka's estate. "They destroyed Luka's workshop and ransacked his home, but they didn't get what they wanted."

"How is his arm-cannon coming along?"

"Almost ready, I believe. It has one hell of a kick to it. He's trying to make it a little weaker for mass production. We don't want the world military causing more destruction than helping."

"Understandable, but maybe one of us should take the weapon as it is. We need to even the field soon."

"I'll talk to Luka about it. You guys stay safe out there, and keep in touch."

"I will. You two stay safe as well. Dependency is probably still nearby. Don't let them catch you off guard."

"We know. We'll be ready for them."

"I'll talk to you soon. Bye."

"Bye." Arlo hung up the phone. He was about to go inside when he noticed a vehicle approaching. "Who's this?"

The vehicle pulled in front of the building and Arlo. Ruby Patel got out of the vehicle wearing sunglasses and looking expensive as usual.

"Good morning, Prince Arlo," she greeted.

"Why are you here?" asked Arlo, crossing his arm.

"Nice greeting," she said as she took her sunglasses off. "I don't remember you being this hostile."

"You hadn't broken my best friend's heart before. But seriously, why are you here?"

"I didn't get to say a proper goodbye yesterday."

"There was a reason for that. Luka is over you and happy now. Why don't you just leave him alone and move on."

"Funny. Are you under the impression I'm here to get him back?"

"What other reason could you possibly be here for?"

Ruby walked up the steps and stood in front of Arlo. "Maybe I want to rekindle my friendship with Luka. Just because we're exes, doesn't mean we can't be friends."
