Chapter 22 - Come get me Merrill

"What are we gonna do?" Eyeball asked Ace quietly as the pair sat outside, cigarettes in hand.

Ace shrugged slightly. "Don't know about you but even I believe that arsehole brother over the fucking freaks we had here earlier."

"But they're working for their mum?" Eyeball questioned.

Ace sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. "You heard him though, he'd apparently trust me more than them."

Eyeball nodded slowly, the thought of Taranis trusting Ace over them said something.

"Not to mention I'm still not feeling great about that Frankie calling her Bella." Ace grumbled as he inhaled. "Something just ain't sitting right with that."

Eyeball nodded again. "I thought she just hated the nickname but seeing her brother react the way he did? Man I thought he was gonna skin me alive there and then!"

Ace agreed. "There's something in that nickname for sure."

"You know they're probably at the diner by now right?" Eyeball didn't want to think of what would happen when they came back.

"Probably."

"What do we do when they come back?"

Ace was silent, he didn't know what to say or do. Eyeball sighed as he flicked his cigarette away and got up, heading back inside.

"We can't keep telling them you've gone to the diner or out for a walk!" Charlie snapped as he looked over at Taranis sat on the sofa.

Taranis sent a small glare his way as Charlie quickly slunk back down.

They all turned to look up as Ace and Eyeball came back inside.

"Where's Bells?" Ace asked pretty much instantly, noticing she wasn't sat with them.

"She felt tired." Taranis grumbled as he refused to look up at the cobra.

Ace instantly left as Eyeball sat down on the sofa, beside the eldest Cunningham.

"When they come back, leave them to me." Taranis spoke with certainty.

"What are you gonna do?" Eyeball asked quietly, though he had a small idea.

Taranis turned his head to look at the cobra as Eyeball saw it in his eyes.
