Chapter 29 - Fight back

"Ma'am."

Isolabella looked up as Eyeball walked back in, following a naturally intimidating looking male, with the sides of his head shaved, what remained of his locks curled on the top of his head.

Isolabella simply stood as she held out the letter to him. He slowly took it as his eyes scanned it over.

His hand reached into his suit jacket as he pulled out a gun, instantly aiming it for the sleeping baby.

Eyeball quickly moved himself in front of him, blocking the gun's view.

"You can't kill a fucking kid!" He snapped, defensively.

Bones tilted his head slightly at the cobra, eyeing him up, before turning to Isolabella.

"Ma'am?" His voice was deep and thick as he almost expected her to give her order.

Isolabella shook her head as Bones grumbled slightly, before he shoved his gun back in his jacket.

Without another word, Bones went down on both knees as his hand went to his chest.

"With Miss Genevieve and Master Cunningham gone, I pledge myself to you." He spoke firmly as he looked up at her.

Isolabella nodded down at him as she gave him a small smile. "I appreciate it."

"What does that mean?" Eyeball looked blankly between the two of them.

Bones gave her a questioning glance as she nodded, allowing him to stand back up as he stared down at Eyeball.

"My life now belongs to her. I live for her, I die for her." He spoke firmly as he kept his firm glare on Eyeball.

"Reckon you can beat that?" Eyeball coughed out a laugh as he looked down at Ace.

"I want Sherry." Isolabella stopped Ace from answering.

Bones nodded. "Now might be a good time to tell you, your mother prepared a file for you and your brother ahead of her death for when you both were to take over."

Isolabella tensed up slightly as she felt Ace stand up by her side.

"I'll read it." She mumbled as she gave him a small nod.

Bones nodded as he went to leave, before stopping and turning back to her.

"Off the record Miss," he spoke quietly. "I am truly saddened by the news."
