The triple header was in full swing after the summer break, continuing onto the Netherlands for the second of the three consecutive races and then onto Monza, which is where Nola was currently. Well they were Milan, but that was only a short journey from the track, but both at home, the Thursday before the race weekend kicked off, but she was concerned. Pierre never ever missed anything, not even so much as a photo opportunity with a fan, let alone miss a whole media day, but today that was necessary.
Pierre laid asleep, his head on Nola's stomach as she continued to stroke his hair as she had done for the past fifteen minutes to get him to sleep, he hadn't felt well for the last couple of days and was low on energy and Pyry had tried everything to keep him going, keep him hydrated and flush whatever illness he had out of his system, but now under doctor orders Pierre was under strict instructions to rest to ensure he could be back to being fit and healthy.
Nola flew home to where she now lived with Pierre, and she was glad that they were both in their own environment while he felt like this. His temperature was high, and he was as sweating quite a bit and hadn't slept properly until last night when he fell asleep in an identical position on Nola, which is why she had ensured he was comfortable now. He hadn't kept any food down and was up and down being sick, a sight Nola didn't appreciate, she worried about him. Pierre's phone rang beside them and Nola quickly and carefully grabbed it to silence it so that it wouldn't wake him before seeing Nadri's number and name on the screen. She quickly ended the call before pulling out her own phone and texting Nadri herself explaining Pierre was asleep currently.
"Ohhh sorry! I didn't realise. How is he?"
Nola smiled and typed a quick reply back to him before settling her hand back on Pierre's head as he started stirring, he settled back down under Nola's fingertips. She was tired herself, she didn't sleep last night because she was worried about Pierre, so a quick nap wouldn't hurt her now.
"Nola, Nola" Pierre called out Nola's name in her sleep and it jolted her awake in a panic, quickly noticing Pierre was asleep and calling out for her.
"Sssh, Ssh" Nola quickly settled him down which caused him to wake up. He was groggy and shifted to lay down properly. "Are you okay?" Nola asked him, he nodded slightly.
"I'm hungry" Pierre whispered. Nola smiled, it was the first time he had said that, he had felt or been sick constantly and had barely eaten, so Nola hoped it was a good sign.
"I'm on it" Nola said, she placed a kiss on Pierre's cheek and tucked the blanket on their bed over him before getting up. He smiled weakly and Nola left the room with her phone in hand.Nola had messages from Pierre's mum, Nadri, Pyry, Charles and Lando. Nola cooked something Pierre liked that was quick while she replied to messages. Firstly to Pascale, so she knew Pierre was okay. Pierre clicked on the tv and smiled when Nola came back in the room, a tray in her hands. She settled into bed next to him and placed the tray on her lap, Pierre sat up a little, he had minimal strength, this cold or flu taking its toll on his body.
"Under strict instructions from Pyry that you take your vitamins and probiotics at the right times and to drink fluids" Nola smiled. She handed those things over first which Pierre accepted before he was handed food, he couldn't smell it but he knew how nice it was, Nola enjoyed cooking, particularly for Pierre. So he knew the food was going to be nice anyway. He was grateful she was here, and they were in their own home, she certainly lifted his spirits.
The following morning, Pierre woke up and stretched out. He felt so much better than he had done the last few days, he smiled and sighed in relief, it wasn't often he was ill and he hated it. He still felt tired and not 100%, but definitely better. Especially when he managed to keep last nights dinner down which meant he now had eaten something. He looked over at Nola who was sleeping peacefully beside him. She was on her side facing him, one of her arms laid across Pierre's stomach, her hand gripping onto his t shirt, the other hand underneath her face. He smiled at her, she always slept like this, holding onto him. Her dark her laid across the pillow behind her, although she was asleep, she looked like she hadn't slept in days, her face was paler than normal and her eyes were dark, Pierre panicked, had he made her sick? He carefully rolled over so he was facing her, matching her position by laying on his side and gently stroked her cheek, brushing a strand of hair away from her face that had strayed.
"Mhm" Nola grumbled quietly, smiling a little feeling Pierre's hand, her eyes fluttered open all sleepy and locked with Pierre's. "Morning" she whispered.
"Morning pea" Pierre smiled, his voice was still a little strained, as his throat was still a bit sore but he sounded better.
"Are you feeling better?" Nola asked, she adjusted her position and entwined her fingers with Pierre's inbetween each other. Pierre nodded
"I am, you don't look okay?" Pierre questioned, full of concern
"Im just tired" Nola stretched a little "I haven't slept much" she shrugged and buried her head in Pierre's chest
"Why?" He questioned, stroking the back of her head with his free hand, he loved mornings with her. Where they'd wake a little earlier than they had to, so that they could lay together in bed and cuddle.
"Worrying about you"
"Nols" Pierre whispered.
"What do you want to do?" Nola asked him
"I think I'm good to start my weekend, as long as the doctor lets me" Pierre said. Nola smiled, although Pierre couldn't see it.
"Then let's" she said. Although she looked tired, and felt it. Nola didn't let on how she truly felt horrible. The lack of sleep catching up on her, the worrying about Pierre which for someone like her wasn't the normal worrying, it was horrendous anxiety that made her feel sick, and helpless and crammed her head with all sorts of irrational things. She had laid awake for hours, long after Pierre went to sleep, that had been her evenings the last few days, she felt run down, and mentally drained and exhausted. But Italy was her favourite place aside from Monaco, and now Pierre was feeling better she had to be okay. So that's what she pretended to be. She jumped up and got herself in the shower and ready for the long day ahead in Monza.
While Pierre was showering, Nola got dressed and put the tv on to fill the silence, since they were up early they were going for breakfast at their favourite place to visit while in home in Milan, before heading to the track. Nola took her vitamins and drank some juice and listened in on the tv, the Italian reporter catching her off guard with his quick speech.
"Last night it was announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away surrounded by her family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland"
