Little bit of a trigger warning in this and the next chapter, mentioning anxiety, panic attacks and things like that.
Sending love to anyone that suffers with any illness❤️

The plane home was lonely, Nola felt guilty and sad to leave, but she wasn't staying. She was meant to be flying to Paris with Pierre after the race for Paris Fashion week, that was his thing and Nola was originally so excited to go, she loved fashion, now she couldn't think of anything worse than spending time with the person that had made her like this, who wasn't the only one to blame though.

She wanted to go home, but even walking into the house she shared with Charles was just as bad, she dropped her suitcase off and packed an overnight back, there was only one place she wanted to be right now, she wanted to feel close to her dad and as she turned up at the front door of her mums house, she felt the tears pooling in her eyes, she knocked and her mum flung the door open.

"Oh Nola" Pascale pulled her daughter into a hug and Nola sobbed into her mothers arms. "Charles rang me, he's so worried"

"Can I stay here?"

"Of course you can ma chérie" Pascale took her daughters bag and pulled her into the house, the lack of sleep and everything had caught up "get yourself some sleep" her mother instructed. Nola nodded and did exactly that. She had messages and missed calls from Pierre and Charles but she ignored them completely. Lando had text which she replied to before looking at social media and realised Alpha Tauri had confirmed Pierre to drive for them next year as well, she sighed, she wanted to be happy, she set her phone down and went to sleep.

In all the years Pierre had known Nola, she never ran away, never. She always stood her ground, so for her to do this was enough to make Pierre realise how stupid he had been. Of course Nola would never do that to him, he knew better than to read into those sorts of things. The words from Charles echoed in his head as he tossed and turned all night.

"She's gone Pierre, she went home, she just left"

Pierre struggled the whole weekend not having Nola with him, like she had been for so long, it was awful. He felt lonely, not even his parents could make the situation better, not that he divulged too much information, he just said Nola had a work thing to prepare for. Charles was a little bit off as well, he never believed his sister would run away, but that's exactly what she had done, and now he was concerned, because she was on her own and sad. Charles and Pierre both walked down the paddock together discussing in hushed tones all things related to Nola, asking if either of them had heard from her, Charles couldn't wait to get back home and see his sister, he wanted nothing more than to just pull her into a hug and say sorry.

When the weekend was over, Charles flew back Monaco as soon as he could, himself, Charlotte, Pierre and Freya were all sitting in the living room of the house he shared with Nola. She herself, went and sat down on the small sofa with Freya, who engulfed her best friend in a hug. Nola rested her head on Freya's shoulder. She had stayed with Nola the whole time, watching her friend cry, sleep and seem to slip further and further into a hole. She knew she was worried about Charles coming home, and it put Nola on edge.

"Before any of you decide to speak, or shout or moan. I wasn't there and I didn't hear or see what went on. But from what I've heard I think it's absolutely disgusting that you all have acted the way you have" Nola felt tears pouring from her eyes already "I have sat here for two days, watching her not eat, sit in bed all day unable to gather the energy to move, I've seen her cry and if she isn't crying she's sleeping. To put your sister in a position where she literally left ON HER OWN to come home, she hates travelling on her own but she would rather do that then stay. I think it's disgusting. Charlotte, you sat with Nola when she had the last big panic attack, and for some reason decided to act the way you did by ignoring her and isolating her. Charles, your sister. You know how little things go and not only were you not there for her, you even blamed her and you shouted at her? Shouted? This is is your sister, when has she EVER said or done ANYTHING to hurt someone? And you" Nola could hear Freya getting angrier and angrier as she called them all out, she wasn't watching but she knew who she was pointing at "YOU made such ridiculous comments, how dare you. Do you even know what's she's had to deal with to even be by your side, how much she's had to overcome mentally to believe that she could be with you, and you just turn around and tell her she's not that strong. And then three of you don't even give her the chance to explain herself when she turned to a FRIEND for help. Do you know she's back on medication? Do you know she's actually been diagnosed with serious mental health problems? Do you know she's been told to have regular therapy sessions? Three different kinds? No. None of it. So say and do what you want, but right now, not a single one of you are worthy of calling yourself a friend, a brother or a boyfriend. The only people she can actually rely on is me, her mother, Lando and Luisinha. Yes, even Luisinha has been more supportive of her, and she's chosen to believe her friend and her boyfriend over anything else" Nola was full blown crying as Freya rocked her. She finished her speech, not a single one of them speaking or interrupting Freya.

Pierre was gobsmacked, and he didn't disagree with what Freya had said either, it was disgusting the way he had acted towards Nola, he knew he had to be careful with her, in the nicest possible way, she was more fragile than most, he knew this and yet he didn't give her the chance to explain. It felt like a punch to the stomach, the air knocked right out of him. He didn't know what to say, what to do or how to act right now, he just stared and watched his girlfriend, she looked lost, a shell of the person he knew. She looked tired, she looked out of it and he hated himself. He wanted nothing more than to pull her from Freya's grasp and hold onto her himself, tell her that it will be okay and that he's sorry.

"You're on medication?" Charles spoke, he was in disbelief.

"Yes she is"

"For?"

"Depression and anxiety" Freya answered, the whole time he knew Freya, she had never had an outburst like this. He didn't even know what to say in response to her. He saw Nola nod her head, Charles glanced at Pierre, they both were speechless. On a normal day Pierre and Charles would of laughed at a post like that. They knew she was friends with Lando, good friends, and that's where it ended. The same way she was friends with Luisinha, or Freya. Pierre wasn't quite sure where Nola's friendship fell with Charlotte right now, or the relationship with himself.

Nola had already spoken to Freya on this subject, so she knew where Nola stood. She didn't want to be around any of them, she was too sad and she needed to focus on herself, she needed to have a conversation with each of them but she knew she wouldn't be able to, so Freya took the lead.

"I speak for her because she quite literally can't speak for herself, she wants space. Complete space" Freya looked directly at Pierre. "We're flying to Italy for her meeting with her team, but we're leaving early, I'm going with her. I ask all of you to just leave her be. This is what she's asked"

"You can't be serious?" Pierre spoke

"Serious about what?"

"Space, what does that even mean?" Pierre asked

"It means, leave me alone to heal. To get better, it means we're done" Nola mumbled, Freya squeezed her friend tighter, Nola's voice was weak, she didn't even sound like herself, that was enough the scare the four people in the room.

"Nola please, we can sort this" Pierre sat forward. Nola just got up, she turned to look at them all.

Charles took note of her, her cheeks stained with tears, her eyes dark, she looked like she hadn't slept for a week, she was pale, she looked slimmer and not healthy either, she looked weak. Her eyes didn't glisten the same green, she looked lost. This was almost an identical replica of what Nola was like after the loss of Anthoine, but Charles was sure this was worse. Before she had PTSD, she needed therapy but that was it.

"Space, that's what I want" Nola whispered. Charles sighed, even her voice wasn't right

"We're leaving tonight, we only stayed to speak to you" Freya said as she stood and took Nola's hand

"Stop speaking for her" Pierre snapped. He had enough, he wanted to speak to Nola, to hold her and cry with her, he wanted to cheer her up and put her back on track, to take away the pain he had caused. Yet the whole time it was like Freya stood in the way, he had no issue with Freya, he liked Freya. But right now he was taking his frustrations out on her.

"She asked me to" Freya snapped back. Nola mustered the energy to take Freya's hand and pull her back, she dropped her head low and walked back into her room. She had already spoken to Andrea and informed her of her current situation, which she decided to do. So there was now an added element to their meeting but Nola was determined to make sure she could still grasp this opportunity with both hands and build herself. Heal herself.

"What about Paris?" Nola heard Pierre speak. Nola had already spoken to Freya about this as well, she couldn't even bare to see his disappointment.

"She's not going" Freya said back.

Pierre threw his head back and sighed. They had been looking forward to it for ages, fashion was Nola's thing and to know she wasn't going to come was devastating. He would be lost without her there, worst of all he would have to put on a brave face, smile and pretend that everything was okay, when truly his heart was breaking into a million pieces, much like Nola's had done recently.
