ADAIR CONNELLY
our next encounter was no surprise since it was at the cafe once again.
only difference is I had stole a single daisy from my neighbor's yard on my way for the girl I was oh so deeply in love with already.
the second I walked into the cafe, my eyes scanned around until they landed on the blonde haired sitting at the very back with her head down in her diary and a cup of tea along with a biscuit besides her.
I gave myself a pep talk which probably looked stupid to everyone else but I was nervous, sick to my stomach with nerves. I held onto my book so tightly as I walked up to her and placed the daisy on top of her diary.
the second she looked up, I could have sworn the wind had been knocked out of my lungs, I knew she was beautiful but she was even more beautiful close up.
"I thought you liked daisies and I saw some on my way, I thought I should take my chances even though I didn't know if you would be here" my rambling begins before I could introduce myself.
"I'm sorry, I'm Adair" I said focusing myself to shut up, a fit of giggles escaped her throat while she looked at my hand waiting for her, instead she pushed it down and stood up to hug me.
it had caught me by surprise but I definitely returned it, hugging her back, "shaking hands is so formal" she said stepping back and into her seat
"and I'm billie" she introduced herself taking the daisy on top of her book, "and daisies are my favorite, how did you know?" she asked with a big smile.
I felt my insides getting giddy and jumpy suddenly at the sound of her voice, "wild guess" I answer while nervously fiddling with my book, "you don't mind if I join you, do you?" I ask pointing on the other side of the booth.
"no" she said shaking her head, I smiled to myself sitting down with my book in front of me, "do you want to share a cookie?" the smile on her face and genuineness in her voice made my heart swell.
"thank you" I smiled accepting the half a cookie, she goes to offer her tea but I quickly declined, "I'm more of a coffee girl" I told her taking a bite of the cookie.
"but tea is so good!" her eyes widened as she said those words, just from that I knew she was ready to convince me and I caved.
I drank tea that day instead of coffee and almost everyday after that.
