ADAIR CONNELLY

"you okay pretty girl?" my mom asks popping her head in my childhood bedroom, I look up from the box giving her a tight smile and nod.

she seems to mentally battle with herself before she nods and slowly shut the door, i put on my earphone going back to go through the box of billie's belongings.

two years ago, I met a girl. she had me hooked from the beginning, from the moment I noticed her gawking at me from across the coffee shop. I specifically remember that her eyes were a light icy blue that day.

we spent minutes after that just staring at each other from across the room until she shied away from my gaze, I had took that moment to look at her appearance. she wore a beige skirt that I found very pretty on her.

her crocheted sweater with daisy designs soon became my favorite thing for her to wear. her white crocheted leg warmers had a pair of brown converses also filled with little flowers either drawn or stickers.

she was by far the most mesmerizing person to look at.

she was always so delightful to me, her smile, her eyes, her nose, her hair, her lips, her nose, even little things like her lashes.

she was so fascinating to me, most beautiful.

she made me feel gigil. the feeling of wanting to squeeze or pinch something that is unbearable cute.

she was unbearably cute and so eesome.

although we didn't do anything more than watch each other from afar that day, I was at the happiest and highest point in my life.

the day I met her.

at that cat coffee shop.

I watched her drink her tea and write or draw on her book while patting the cat that sat next to her on the booth, after that I couldn't focus on the book in my hand.

I would pretend to read but my eyes were running over the pages while my mind is stuck on the girl across the room.

after an hour a older boy had came in to get her, from the looks of it, they had a very close bond. from the way her face light up when she stood up to hug him and run off with him but it wasn't without leaving a note by the barista and one last peak over at me.

I later found out she was drawing me the whole time we sat there, she drew me with little hearts and stars over my head with light coloring with pencil crayons.

she had told the barista to give it to me when I was leaving and I got it, it's my favorite thing till this day.

I treasure it.

just then I could have told you I was in love.

I've never been one to believe in love at first sight, that's stupid. you can't fall in love with someone from a glimpse of them but I can tell you that I did and I fell hard.

I just didn't know she would have been the one and only for me forever but I can't begin to tell how grateful I was to find that cafe that day.

I just didn't know she would have been the one and only for me forever but I can't begin to tell how grateful I was to find that cafe that day
