ADAIR CONNELLY
coffee meetups on fridays became a regular thing.
we got more comfortable with each other.
we got to know each other more.
I tried to look for flaws on billie that I couldn't find then and still can't think of one flaw now.
billie was the perfect girl although she would have disagreed with me on that statement, not from insecurity, no.
purely from the fact that she knew her flaws but she admired them, although I couldn't see them.
she was all around the most perfect girl.
from her small giggles to her loud laugh. from her small smiles to all the toothy grins. she was all around perfect.
I had learnt she crochets and makes her sweaters in all creative ways, like the brown button up sweater she made me. it's one of my favorite things for sure.
"I don't know, I finished it last night and I thought maybe you would like it since you wear more of the settle colors and I am always so vibrant with my colors and I thought it would be really nice on you. you don't have to wear it" she rambled after handing me the sweater.
"billie" I laughed trying to stop her, "this is so cute, shut up. it's so pretty" I pouted looking at it, "thank you" I thanked her making her nod with blush covering her face.
"it was nothing" she said waving me off making me giggle, I slipped on my sweater over my white button up and smiled when I noticed it is a perfect fit.
"it's so pretty, thank you" I said making eye contact with her, she nodded while looking away to hide her blush.
from that moment on, we grew closer. with me constantly stealing a single daisy every friday from the yard next door and billie's blush on her cheeks when she held the daisy close to her.
"I should get you a whole bouquet next time" I said watching her run her finger tips on the flower, that immediately made her shake her head.
"no, the single daisy makes it special in a way" she said with a shrug looking over at me with a big smile, "I like it being just the one" she added making me nod.
the stealing flowers went on until I got caught and had to come up with a plan b of growing my own. so I did it, watched videos of how to take care of some and grew them in my backyard.
while they were in a process, I had to stop by a flower shop and ask for a single daisy every friday.
not that I minded though, not at all. it was worth seeing her all smiley and excited when I showed up with a single daisy.
it was all worth it to see billie smile.
billie was always worth it.
