Chapter 6

Finn's POV

I just looked at her in shock. How could they have over heard? Lexi saw my surprised look and just smirked again. I groaned. We all walked back to the towels and lay down. I started to drift off to sleep. I woke up to Lexi yelling in my ear.

"GET UP LAZY!" she yelled.

"Five more minutes." I groaned.

"We're leaving with or without you!" she screamed in my ear.

"Geesh, seriously can you be quieter?" I asked her after I sat up and opened my eyes.

"Nope," she said popping the 'P'. I got up and packed my things up.

At the Apartment: Finn's POV

We were sitting around the living room watching T.V. when Lexi asked, "When do we train?"

"Tomorrow morning," Lilly answered, "We wanted to take you someplace fun before we started your training."

"How hard is it?" I asked.

"You will find out tomorrow" Alyssa said mysteriously.

"Well THAT makes me feel better!" Lexi and I said at the same time.

They just laughed. We watched T.V. but I couldn't focus on the screen. I kept thinking about tomorrow. At about 10 we decided to go to bed.

"Goodnight," Alyssa said," See you tomorrow!"

I groaned and walked into my room. I changed into my PJ's and went to sleep.

The next morning I was standing in the training room. The instructor told us to climb the rope ladder. Lexi and I looked at each other.

"Seriously?" I thought to myself, "That's not too hard."

I climbed up and so did Lexi. The next task was to cross the tightrope. Lexi started across and I followed. All of a sudden the floor opened up and there was lava. I gulped and kept going. Then suddenly Lexi lost her balance and started to fall.

"LEXI!" I screamed.

I grabbed for her hand but missed. I saw the look of terror on her face and it mirrored my own. Then I lost my balance and started to fall too.
"What kind of crazy person puts LAVA under a tightrope?" I thought.

As I was falling I had another thought: I'm never going have a girlfriend, get married, and have three kids and a dog.

Just as I was about to hit the lava I sat up in bed gasping for breath. All of a sudden the connecting door between Lexi and my rooms flew open and Lexi came running in.

"Are you OK?" she asked, "you were yelling something."

"Just a nightmare." I said.

"About what?" she asked. I explained it to her.

"Seriously? That would've been your last thought?" she laughed.

"Shut up," I mumbled, blushing.

"I don't think Dad would let something like that happen to us," Lexi said in all seriousness, "Now get back to sleep, we have non-lethal training in the morning."

"OK," I said, "But if we die I'm so saying: I told you so." She just rolled her eyes and went back into her room.

The next morning came really fast. I woke up and brushed my teeth, took a shower, and got dressed in sweats and a dry-fit shirt. I looked at the time and saw that I still had an hour until we had to go to the training gym. I got on my phone. I haven't really looked at it since we got here. I looked and I saw that it had a G.P.S. app, that must've been installed sometime after it got here. I could see where Lexi and everyone else's phones were. That was pretty cool.

I looked at the time. I saw that I had a half an hour until we went to train. I went into the kitchen and saw Matt pigging out on almost everything in the fridge. I just stared until he looked at me and asked, "What?"

"Oh, sorry nothing." I said. I grabbed some cereal poured it into a bowl and poured milk on top of it. I ate it and put the bowl in the sink.

Katie came running out of her room like a wild animal was chasing her.

"What's the rush?" I asked her.

"It's time to go!" she exclaimed.

Everyone came running out of their rooms. We all ran to the door. We all tried to go out and we all just got stuck. Finally we somehow managed to get free of the door and all ran to the elevator and got stuck again. After much pushing and shoving we got to the elevator and pushed the 10th floor button. We got to the 10th floor and walked into the training gym. We stood waiting around until the instructor came. Each team has a different instructor.

"Hello, I'm you instructor Jeff." he said.

He looked around 25 with black hair and hazel eyes.

"Let's start with some basic exercises." Jeff said.

We all started doing push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups. Then we did boxing and wrestling. We even got a martial arts and Judo lesson. We were taught how to use some different gadgets, how to fire a gun, and lots of other stuff. We climbed a rope and rock climbed. This is fun! I thought. We were taught how to hand to hand combat and a lot of cool knife tricks.

I was doing great until Jeff said, "Now let's climb this rope ladder."
