Chapter 11

Lexi's POV

I woke up to Alyssa and Crystal arguing. It was kind of funny actually. Alyssa was going on about beauty sleep and Crystal was just sitting there with a confused look on her face. Then Alyssa mentioned something about Tasers and Crystal ran out the door really fast. After she ran out there was some yelling in the halls. When she came back she was carrying Travis. He looked like he was unconscious. She ran in the door and slammed it behind her. I heard Finn moan.

"Didn't Bradley come in here?" Crystal asked. "Bradley?" I asked confused. "Oh! Isn't he the red head kid?" Cody asked. "Yeah, well, most of you guys are asleep, you should be awake for announcements." she told everyone that was awake (Not Finn). "Announcements!?! Ha! We aren't guild members!" Katie said. "Yeah, but if you're going to sleep over you're going to be treated like one!" Crystal said smugly. I groaned internally. This was going to be a snooze fest. Then Crystal yelled out the door for Bradley. He came stomping into the room with a megaphone. He just took one look at Crystal then looked at the pile of kids on the couch. "Got it" he said. He sounded happy. Odd. Lilly turned to Crystal. "What are you doing?" she asked but I doubt that she heard. Her ears were plugged. Second odd thing to day. I didn't have any more time to think because right then Bradley yelled, "WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUTTS!" I suddenly know why she plugged her ears. I think I must have jumped at least a foot if not five.



"I love my job!" Bradley laughed. I think that's what he said...I couldn't tell because my ears were ringing. "How is that funny!?!" Finn asked. "Seeing everyone jump up with this crazy look on their face: Priceless!" I'm beginning to think that there is something wrong with the people of this island. "Ha.Ha very funny....NOT!" Travis yelled at Bradley. "Oh, you would understand if you had this job!" Bradley said, "It makes waking up at 5:30 worth it!"

"5:30!?!" yelled Alyssa. She is such a drama queen sometimes but this time I understand her pain. "And what time is it now?" she asked. "Um, six." Bradley said. I thought I might die right then. "Did you say...SIX?" Finn said very unhappily. I felt the same way. "Yep! So if you're going to be sleeping here, you're going to have to train for a day too!" Bradley said. "WHAT?" we all yelled. "Yeah, we aren't a charity." Bradley shrugged. He turned around and marched out the door.

Crystal laughed nervously and turned around. She was met with 8 faces reflecting the exact same look: mad, very mad. We all marched out the door. After announcements Crystal said, "Ok here's the plan, Matt, Katie, Finn, Lexi, and Lilly will go to the store with Travis. Anyone want to carry him?" He was still knocked-out. I looked at her questionably. She really expected us to carry him to the store? "He's a lot lighter that you think." she said. Matt stood up. "Really?" he asked. Crystal handed him Travis. "Wow! He is, but how do we get up the ladder?" Matt asked. "Sling him on your back." she replied. She handed us ten dollars. "The rest of us will go find a mission to do." Crystal said and walking off with everyone else.

"Ok" I said, "Where is the store?" We wandered around for a while until we found the store. "Cool!!!! Shoping carts" Finn said. "Ugh" I moaned. "Can you get any more immature?" I asked. "Immature is what boring people call fun people!" Finn exclaimed. I groaned again. "Let's just do this!" "Not without a shopping cart!" Finn yelled as he sprinted towards the cart rack. This was going to take forever!

When we walked through the door there were a ton of isles. "FOOD!!" Matt exclaimed running off. Everyone else ran to some other part of the store. I groaned this was going to take FOREVER.

"Wheeeeeeee!!" Finn yelled as he flew by me in a shopping cart. "Ladies and gentlemen...my twin brother!" I said under my breath. "Hey! Get down!" A worker was yelling at Matt for grabbing a ton of food and climbing on top of a display rack.

How was I going to round up them all? Then it hit me! "Sorry!" Finn said from inside the basket of the shopping cart. I groaned. I pushed the cart off me and climbed to my feet. I grabbed the cart and ran towards the display rack where the worker was still yelling at Matt. I ran into the rack and Matt lost his balance and fell into the cart. "Bingo!" I yelled. I sprinted off to find Katie and Lilly. "Why'd you do that?" Matt said rubbing his head. "We have to go!" I said, "We want to make it back to Crystal this year right?" I kept running. "Where are they?" I asked. "Try the shoe department." Finn suggested. I ran to the shoe section and sure enough there they were arguing about which shoes were cuter. I ran by and Finn and Matt grabbed Katie and Lilly and pulled them into the cart.

"Hey!" Katie complained, "What was that for?" "We need to go!" I said, "We need to meet Crystal to find out what our mission is!" "WAIT!" Katie yelled.

We stopped right in front of the door. "What?" I asked, "Did-." "You forget those boots?" Finn finished. "1. Creepy 2. I wish 3. Travis" she said. I mentally slapped myself. TRAVIS! I forgot Travis! I made a fast U-turn. "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Finn yelled. "Zip it!" I yelled at him. I ran all around the store. People were giving me weird glances for having a shopping cart full of teenagers. I made a quick left and almost collided with the manager.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked glaring at the shopping cart full of people, "The rules say people no older than five are allowed in the carts." "Well," I said, "We were just-RUN!" I turned around and ran straight through the frozen food section. "Not here!" Matt said munching on some potato chip he got from who-knows-where. "Thank you captain obvious." I said. I looked back and saw that the manager and two security people were chasing us. "Great!" I said, "Where the heck is Travis?" "Don't forget supplies." Lilly reminded me. We drove by a rack full of rope and they were having a sale on grappling hooks. "Wow," I said, how convenient!" We grabbed some and kept driving.

"Are they still following us?" I asked. "No," Finn said. "They are going to ambush us!" Katie whispered to us. "Should I turn around?" I asked. "Probably." Katie said. I did a second U-turn. "Where to now?" I asked. "Try the toy department." Finn said. I glared at him. "You just want to play with the toys don't you?" I accused. He smiled sheepishly. "No I don't!" He said. I drove to the toys and there was Travis! "See!" Finn said. We grabbed him and threw him in the cart. "Where did you get the energy drink?" I asked. "Oh! I was feeling dehydrated so I grabbed some." He answered. "Hey guys!" He said. "Where have you been?" Lilly asked, "We're being chased by the manager and two security guards!" "I've been here the whole time!" He said.

"Now we need to get out of here!" I said, "How about the exit?" I followed the signs to the exit. "Wait we have to pay!" Finn reminded me. For the third time in a day I made a U-turn.

I ran to the front and Matt threw the money on the counter and I ran out the door. "Ok! Everyone out!" I said to my friends in the cart. They jumped out and ran to some tables sitting out in front of a cafe. Just as we all sat down someone cleared their throat. I looked over and there was Crystal and all of our friends.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked. "Drinking." Travis said holding up his energy drink. "Eating breakfast." Matt said. I rolled my eyes. Obviously he would think of food.

"When can we go?" Crystal asked. "Is there a pancake house anywhere?" Matt asked, "We can go after we-" "NO!" Crystal said, "I've made that mistake once, and if you don't get out rescuing at a certain time, the next day Josh makes you do a bunch of training stuff and work until you could pass out."

"Wow, can you say harsh?" Katie said, "Who does that?"

"Josh," Travis said. I looked over to see Alyssa in an argument over fashion with Grant. This is going to be a long day. Crystal walked over to settle the argument. Thank goodness for her because I really don't want to get in the middle of THAT argument.

"Can we just GO already?" Crystal asked, "Before Alyssa tries to give even more fashion tips?"

We were in the middle of some forest. I think that Crystal called it the Evergreen forest. We were looking for some lady's son.

I giggled when Matt tripped on a rock and fell into a spider web. He ran around for a few minutes screaming trying to get them off.

"I don't like the woods..." I told Crystal, "I prefer the city." "MY SHOES ARE MUDDY!" Alyssa screeched, "Do you hear me? MUDDY!! And they were brand NEW!" "Come on! Man up!" Travis yelled at her. Big mistake I thought. Alyssa glared at Travis. "DO. I. LOOK. LIKE. A. GUY?" she asked. "I prefer fighting than walking in the woods" Zack said. "Agreed." Cody replied. "Do you guys like have an enemy?" Katie asked. "Yep. Team Ninja and Team Skull." Crystal said. "Teams fight each other?" Lilly asked. As Crystal talked the sky darkened as we got deeper into the woods.

The leafy canopy seemed to block out most of the sunlight. The few rays that did manage to struggle in were getting fewer and far between. When the last ray of sunlight gave up the fight to the trees I got out my night vision goggles. So did Finn and the rest of our team mates. Crystal and Travis got out flashlights. "What are those?" Crystal asked.



"Night vision goggles." Finn replied.

"Whoa! Travis said looking at us like we were from another planet. "What do they do?" He asked.

"They give you vision...in the dark. I think the name kind of gives it away." I said.

As we walked on I heard lots of different nocturnal animals. Off in the distance I could hear weird calls that sounded like Tribal people. I saw a fire light. We all stopped. Crystal was looking on her phone. "Something wrong?" she asked. "Look behind you." Travis said. She looked over her shoulder and ran stumbling along the way towards the fire.

We stayed where we were and waited after 30 seconds Crystal came running back with about 10 Amazon type people on her heals. "You be our food now!" One of them said. "Guys we've trained for this! Let's show them how it's done!" Matt said. We all pulled out our stun guns and raced towards a few of the tribal people. I stunned three of them and Finn stunned the other two. I looked over and saw Crystal on the back of a tall female tribal person. When she threw Crystal on the ground and pulled out a knife I ran towards her but Travis got there first and knocked the lady down.

Travis picked up Crystal in his arms and took her to a log to sit down. A kid came out of the underbrush behind Crystal and sat beside her. It looked like Travis and the kid were going to start fighting any second. I started to walk over to them. Travis scratched the kid and the kid kicked Travis. I started to run. By the time I got over there the kid and Travis were knocked out in the mud at Crystal's feet. I just got over there in time to hear Crystal say: "It's a transporting badge, it transports you." "We don't have that!" Finn said. "It's fun." Crystal reassured us.

"Return home!" Crystal said. "How's that going to-" I started but a yellow light surrounded us and I felt weightless.

We were back on the beach. The sun was just starting to slip under the horizon.

"Well this was fun!" Katie said, "Thanks for inviting us!" "No problem." Travis shrugged. "Yeah, it was better than I expected" Zack said.

I climbed into the helicopter. "I wish you guys could visit us sometime." Cody said. "Yeah." Travis said nervously. Everyone else followed me into the helicopter. The rotor blades started to spin. "Bye!" I yelled. We lifted off. We all waved until they were both spots on the beach. Just as I had relaxed my phone rang.

I grabbed my phone. It was my dad. "Hi Dad," I said, "What's up?" "Damien's henchmen found our house. You won't be landing back here you will be going to a safe house in California. Los Angles to be exact."
