Chapter 2

Lexi's POV

"What are you two doing home so early?" Our mom asked us when we got inside. "I just sent you out less than twenty minuites ago!"

"You wouldn't believe us if we told you." Lexi said rolling her eyes.

"Try me." Our mom said slightly narrowing her eyes and putting her hand on her hip.

"Well," I started, " we here chased by a black v-"

"CAT!" Lexi exclaimed cutting me off, and giving me a little bit of a glare.

I narrowed my eyes in confusion, while my mom just narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

"It sounds like you two need to get your story straight..." My mom said trailing off with a little bit of a smirk on her face. "So what was it? A "va" or a "cat"?"

"CAT" we exclaimed at the same time and running up the stairs.

"I'm sure it was a very scary cat!" my mom yelled up after us.

I could hear the laughter, as well as the suspicion, in her voice.

"What are we going to do?" Lexi asked me.

"About what?" I asked.

"The black van that chased us, stupid. What did you think I was talking about?" She asked me slightly smirking.

"No need to be so sassy." I replied, slightly laughing. " But we should probrobly tell them though."

"I guess that's the best decision." She said sighing.

"Of course it is!" I said, "Because it was made up by me!"

I lightly bumped her shoulder with mine, making her slightly smile.

"C'mon." I said getting to my feet and pulling her up. "Let's go play Wii or something."

"So I heard you kids found a scary cat." our dad said with mock seriousness.

"About that." Lexi started, "We have something to tell you."

"What is it?" our mom asked.

"It wasn't a cat," I said, "It was actually a van, a black van."

My parents stopped eating.

"Well that's...Disturbing. Isn't it Frank?" our mom asked.

My dad just slightly nodded.

"We should call the polic-"

"NO!" he yelled, his face getting red when he relised he yelled, " I mean no, let's not since they, um, got away. Let's just let it be for now, and if it happens again, we'll let the police know."

"I will not let my children be harmed!" our mom said, her voice slightly rising is anger and distress.

"Kids, why don't you go to bed" our dad said calmly.

Lexi and I just nodded. We left the table, and went upstairs. I could hear mom talking franticly while my dad stayed calm. Eventually our mom started to calm down too.

"Wanna go hear the rest?" Lexi asked me with a michivous sparkle in her eye.

"Sure" I said smiling.

We crept down the stairs.

"Are you sure Frank?" I heard my mom ask my dad

"For the tenth time, yes I'm sure Susan."

"It's just so hard to comprehend." she said sighing.

"I know," he said, "we'll tell the kids tomorrow."

Lexi and I looked at eachother, confusion written on our faces.
