i couldn't tell anyone of what happened that night in the closed-door room.

but i truly felt in the right place in that moment. like i was the book and he was the missing page. and this was how i was going to feel till the day do we part. and i was happy with that; fully content with being able to feel like this with each passing day.

i finally felt as if i controlled my path. the moment that benedict slid the ring onto my finger, i finally felt right.

it was gold, with pearls, and a shiny jewel in the center. it was beautiful. i could've guessed that it cost benedict a shiny coin, but he reassured me that it was a gift.

we weren't married yet, no. he was just having the ring sized so that it shall not fall off.

"only a few more days," he whispered into my ear, "and we shall be man and wife then we may be allowed to do whatever we shall please." he had been so excited for married life. but, i wasn't. everything had been going so great. my parents seemed to like him, sure there were some flaws that they wanted to chop off like it was a strand of hair. what if this marriage ruined it? what if it was all gone like a dream? slowly fading away until neither of us can remember being happy.

i smiled, feeling my cheeks glow with red. whatever was in his kiss, it changed everything. before, i may have been skeptical of if we were going to actually stand on that alter. but know i knew. i knew that he felt something too and i wasn't insane.

"what a happy, young couple. exactly what this town needs." the jeweler voiced as benedict slid the ring off of the finger suited for a ring.

that kiss made benedict's heart bounce. he had never done anything like it before. sure he had his fair share of women, but none of them as graceful as his betrothed. even without trying, she still felt like a butterfly on a flower. if she had been true to her word that meant it was her first time. which meant she was his. that sentence made him the happiest.

and he felt fully content with that.

omg i'm sorry this is such a short chapter 🙈 but basketball season started at my school this week!! aaaa this is insane. i also know nothing abt basketball so it's so awkward to cheer for something you don't know anything about.
also we've hit 194 reads!!! we're almost at 200, crazy right?
also i think my teacher found this book. so if your my english teacher, stop. please. i'm begging you. i'll literally let you fail me as long as you stop.
