I love visual novel games. They are so fun but what I like better are ones with actual plot and action. And if they are done right I'll be emotionally attached and that means you made the game well.
I'll get emotional about anything I think is done well and I really enjoyed.
And that is why I am here today to say I've been playing this one specific one. I honestly think it is my favorite and if you'll know which one I'm talking with how I described it.
Some routes I play while others I watched videos of. I love voices, I love it when those who play them give them voices. It just adds more character to them.
This one is basically a fantasy kingdom world where there are humans, witches, and fairies. And some people don't like the witches too much.
But anyways I was at the part of the action scene. It's on the true ending and the villain has Your love interest in magical bonds.
Then you say this cliche line and trope that I absolutely hate.
"I'll do anything"
And I just pause.
First of all, what where you thinking when you said that?
You know how cruel and evil the vilian is and what they all done to you? You know how they hurt a lot of people and you felt like you couldn't do anything but run.
And you think it will help if you say I'll do anything.
The villain might say I'll release him if you (insert some evil task that hurts people).
Of course you'll hate that.
Why is it whenever something happens to a character they say I'll do anything not realizing the other person will turn that against them and make them do the worst?
And 90% of the time they are an antagonist you are dealing with and the 10% are arrogant people just wanting you to do something they will think is funny. But both scenarios are against you.
Why don't these characters be like, I'll do almost anything reasonable if you let him go /(do the favor or thing I want). That way you won't get tricked into having to do something you don't like.
But Noooooo they say anything.
Never use anything.
The villain is a horrible person and your character knows that. You realized she can't be saved. She is your mother who gaslighted you, kept you away from everyone because she hated humans and caused misery to them, while also putting spell like curses based on fairytales on anyone who didn't agree.
She even made it where you would only love and rely on her by whipping your memory of everything bad she did. She manipulated you to only believe her as your world.
That is why you ended up being a cold hearted person in the beginning and had to be cursed to change this logic or thinking.
But it is honestly not your fault at all for being that way because you were raised that it is normal. You were raised and manipulated that everyone is out to get you and you must trust no one.
So even after the villain's first death you remain that way because of her influence. You are cold and harsh and become inflicted with a curse/spell representing a certain Fairytale but every curse is a twisted version of it.
This makes nobody remember you so you will have to become a better person that way you aren't like the villain.
She is so horrible gaslighted that she even makes you forget your childhood friend and makes you think you were all alone and the only love you had was the villain's.
OH AND ALSO
The villain wants you to give yourself up, become her obedient sweet child again while also giving up all your power you earned (when you turned 18) to her.
So she takes your beloved and goes to a place where you meet.
Then you're like I don't want anyone else to get hurt or die so you trap everyone away from the villain and where you plan to meet her.Maybe you should get like others who are good at fighting.
But no you don't want anyone else to get hurt.
Common protagonist.
Then you decide I'm going to pretend to be on your side again so I won't have to give anything up.
That's not completely stupid.
It somehow works and I can't help but be like how is it that the others who are there don't realize it.
I mean in previous routes you went back and forth and thought things they did were not helpful to help you become a better person so... maybe
But then the villain decides, to prove your love to her she wants you to kill your beloved.
I'm there like that's smart on her part but bad for you.
But now I'm like what if you say you were never taught magic to kill or any offensive ones and you need LOTS OF PRACTICE TO PERFECT IT.
ORR YOU SHOULD HAVE KILLED HER LIKE YOU PLANNED
You even hugged her and you could have knifed her or use the one offensive magic there.
But you didn't and end up trying to redirect the spell thing to the villain when you pretend to kill/hurt your beloved.
Anyways that's it for today.
I think I might do more visual novel talks and just be like there are spoilers so uhh read at your own risk.
