Growing up with a Friend

September 10th, 1979

The day when Nick meets a human who's likely a friend. A friend who gets abusive by a drug dealer men for 5 months. And Nick made his first new friend.

Nick:
I woke up and I heard a kid screaming, "Stop it! Help!" I see a kid getting hurt by a grown men. The kid is in really danger, I need to help him immediately. I use my mind to move the grown men away from the kid and push him to the wall really hard. I run to the kid and give him a hand and I said, "Are you okay?" The kid reply, "Yes.. thanks. I don't know what happened to him." I reply, "Oh I.. pull him away really hard from you." The kid said, "Thanks. Oh my name is Sebastian, what's your name?" He asked. I reply, "My name is Nicholas." Sebastian said, "Nicholas, alright then I call you Nick for short." Me and Sebastian said, "Cool" to each other with our smiley face. The grown men wakes and stands up and said, "You two well PAY FOR THIS!" Me and Sebastian ran away from him. Sebastian said, "Follow me, we'll get out of here!" I ask, "Where!" Sebastian reply, "To my house!" I said, "Okay!" Me and Sebastian we're getting into Sebastian's bike. Sebastian said, "Hold tide!" I hold Sebastian's shoulders and we're going to Sebastian's House.

At Sebastian's House

Nick and Sebastian are at Sebastian's House. Sebastian asked, "Do you have a family?" Nick reply, "I don't have a family.." with a sad emotional face. Sebastian feels so sorry and worried about how Nick's life have been through.

Nick:
Me and Sebastian we're going inside of his house and I see his Mom and she says, "Hi Sebastian.. oh look who we have here, I see a new face huh. Sebastian is this your new friend?" Sebastian reply, "Yes mom, this is Nick." His mom ask, "Nick.. who?" Sebastian realize he needs to explain everything to his mom. Sebastian ask, "Can we talk?" Sebastian and his mom are talking everything about me. I sit on the couch and watching the TV while I wait for them. Sebastian's mom feels so sorry and worried as well for me. Sebastian's mom introduce herself to me, "Hey Nick, My name is Jasmine Hernandez, we're the family of Hernandez, and I'll be your guardian for now on okay? I'll treat you the best I could. You can stay in Sebastian's room okay. Oh and since you help Sebastian from that guy, keep an eye on him okay." I reply, "Yes, Ja.. Jasmine." Jasmine said, "That's the spirit." she nodded me. Then they give me clothes and a bed. "I'm going to shower." I said and Sebastian said, "Oh, you can use one of my shampoos." I reply, "Okay" I shower with Sebastian's shampoos and I smell it and it smells perfect, is like flowers. I look to my left arm that the tattoo says, "007." and my necklace, I thought it was something else so I keep it secret to myself. (I'm having flashbacks.) When I'm done showering, I wear the new clothes that Jasmine gave me and it's also feels comfortable. I got out of the bathroom and Sebastian said, "Oh Wow!" I ask, "What?" Sebastian says, "You look perfect!" I thank him, "Thanks." with embarrassment and scratch my head. Sebastian says, "Ok my turn." I move aside so he can go to the bathroom and shower. I go into Sebastian's room and check what he has. I see some posters, pictures and board games. I see a mirror behind his door and I look myself. Like Sebastian said, "You look Perfect!" I said to myself, "You're perfect." I smile slightly. When Sebastian finish showering, he comes out of the bathroom and putting his shirt while I look back to look at him and I stare at his stomach but then I realize something is wrong with me, so I turn around and look at the window to have a moment. Sebastian asked me, "Hey, how old are you?" I have to remember when I was born but I don't know how old am I so I tell him "I'm... 8 years old." Sebastian said, "Oh I'm one year older than you." I ask, "So you're 9 years old?" Sebastian said, "Yes." We both smile and laugh each other.

Then Nick and Sebastian living together like a normal life in Hernandez House with Sebastian's mom, Jasmine. Nick and Sebastian goes to the same school they go to Elementary School. Sometimes they get bullied by the other kids but they got each others back.
They both don't have friends so they hangout each other at anywhere like the park, the Hawkins Library, Town of Hawkins, the woods and the Bradley's Big Guy. They both play board games in their room.

One week later,
September 17th, 1979

Nick and Sebastian are having fun at the town of Hawkins until the grown men returns for payback.

Nick:
I ask, "Hey Sebastian.. isn't that.. the same guy he hurt you?" We both look at the grown men with a knife in his hand. We ran away with panic from him because he's coming towards us. We went back of the buildings to run to Sebastian's bike but we got surrounded by another two grown mens who are working with the other grown men. The grown men comes towards us and Sebastian says, "What do you want, Jordan!" I was shocked because of what he said. Jordan says, "Well, what do you think we want." with a smirk on his face. Sebastian says, "I am not dealing with you anymore! I'm nothing to you!" Jordan says, "You, disappointed me for what have you've done." Sebastian says, "Please just don't hurt us." Jordan says, "Is over...It is time! The time for you to DIE!" I said, "NO!" I use my mind power to push him and their workers away from us. Jordan was in pain because I throw him to the trash pickup really hard. I breathe in and out really fast. Sebastian was shocked and impressive of what he saw, "Wow! Nick how did you-" I interrupted him saying, "there's no time to stay, c'mon let's get out of here!" we ran to Sebastian's bike and going to Hernandez House for safety. We went to our bedroom and discuss about how did Sebastian knows the grown men's name. I ask, "Would you care to explain how did you know him!" with anger emotions.

Sebastian reply to Nick, "He was a friend, a good friend.. I thought he was an innocent guy, but when I found out that he murders people whenever they don't give him drugs. I was... so scared and.. I- I ran away from him." Sebastian started crying tears in front of Nick. "Jordan treated me worse like an animal. I always get assaulted and abused by him and the others. I couldn't tell my mom because if I did, Jordan will murder me. But you, you're the one who saved me from him." Sebastian nodded at Nick with tears.

Nick:
Sebastian seems to starting crying, so I comfort him, sitting on the bed together. I put my arm around Sebastian and give him a big hug for him so he can stop crying. Sebastian ask me, "Also, how did you do that and what's on your left arm that says number seven?" I reply, "I can't remember why I have this, but I'll show you what I do." I move the board game in front of Sebastian. Sebastian looks so impressive of me, he said, "Wow!" I said, "But don't tell your mom or she will kick me out." Sebastian accepts to not tell his mom for this. But he got an idea of what to do with my powers. Me and Sebastian we're sleeping together in Sebastian's bed. Jasmine walks in our bedroom and looking at us saying, "Such a Sweet little boys." and leaves. Knowing that she's like my new mom.

Then Nick and Sebastian have grown for 4 years, they're now 12-13 years old. They've been playing Game and Watch, PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong and Mario Bros together the whole time in Palace Arcade. They're now in Hawkins Middle School. Nick and Sebastian loves listening The Beatles. Nick realized of how much he loves Music. Nick grows his hair some long and he change his hairstyle to messy hair. Nick learns new words by reading a dictionary. He knows how to draw painting, play sports, and communicate with another person with calm. Also sometimes Nick is overthinking something that really hit his feelings by the bullies when they called him, "Queer." "Fag." "Quiet Kid." "Freak." "Creep."
