"Are you all right?" Jinyoung's voice went soft, trying to comfort him a little.
"I don't think I am." Oliver looked at Jinyoung with tears threatening to form in his eyes.
"Oh... Why did you choose to come here, though?"
"I didn't really understand where else to go."
Jinyoung raised an eyebrow, "Your home?" He asked sarcastically.
Oliver was stunned.
"I'm really sorry for disturbing you. I'll- I'll go back now." He slowly got up, dusting his clothes off.
"Oh no, no! I am sorry for making such an insensitive joke. It was meant to make you feel better, I guess." Jinyoung never really had to comfort anyone in his life. His family was fairly stable and no one was much dependant on one another.
"Anyways, just get in." Jinyoung welcomed a very pathetic looking Oliver into his house.
'Why does he look so broken after creating all the chaos?' Jinyoung observed Oliver suspiciously.
"Take a seat." He said as Oliver wandered aimlessly. "I'll get something warm for you to drink, you look very cold."
Oliver feebly sat on the couch and waited patiently for Jinyoung.
In a minute, Jinyoung came back with a cup of warm milk, "Why are you sad?" He asked nonchalantly and sat beside him.
"You sound like you know what's happening, hyung. Don't you?" Oliver's voice shook as he spoke, he looked at Jinyoung with bitter and shaking eyes.
Jinyoung was taken aback, he had never seen Oliver like that- so dejected; even when they were children Oliver only looked lonely and unwilling to mingle with people. He looked sick.
"I do." Jinyoung lowered his head.
"I thought you would curse me and kick me out. I guess I have a very different perception of you."
"That's what I almost did before my manners took over." Jinyoung murmured.
"I heard that." Oliver quietly sipped on the milk, warming his hands on the cup.
Jinyoung rolled his eyes.
"You know, I actually wanted to go to Tae hyung's place."
"You know you wouldn't be very welcome there. Right?"
"I know that and also I know that he will be ready to take me in, but..."
"But?"
"But I can't speak about my problem with the problem himself."
"Right."
There was a minute of silence before Oliver started to speak.
"Hyung, is it wrong to like Jisoo, just because her and Tae hyung are in a relationship?"
Jinyoung looked at Oliver, "Of course, it is!"
Oliver chuckled empty-heartedly, "Can anyone understand me."
Jinyoung heard a hiccup.
"Please." Oliver whimpered helplessly.
"Are- are you crying?" Jinyoung started to panic.
"No." Oliver started to shake as he tried to hold himself together.
"What are you trying to prove, Oliver?" Jinyoung felt bad for Oliver.
"I can love her too! Why is it wrong? She can love me too and that is what I am trying to prove!"
"You're being childish. She doesn't like you, does she?"
"She will. I'm trying, am I not? To make her love me. One of these days when I'm trying to make her like me back, she will like me back!"
"She likes Taehyung already, why should she like you too?"
"Because I like her!"
"Why do you think everyone is supporting them and not you?"
"Because they don't understand me. No one does."
"And what if anyone understood you, what difference will it make?"
"If anyone understands me, they'll understand how I feel and they'll support me. It'll give me strength to continue and will help me understand if Jisoo won't need me no matter what."
"You're crazy." Jinyoung said.
Suddenly, an idea popped up in his head.
'What if I be the one who understands him?
What if I help him realise that Jisoo doesn't need him?
This way I won't only be helping Jisoo but I'll be helping Oliver too'
He looked at Oliver, who was crying miserably, and decided that he should go for it.
Hesitantly, "What if I try to understand you?" Jinyoung patted Oliver.
Oliver stopped for a second, "What do you mean? Why would you?" Jinyoung smiled at him.
"Jisoo is not my only childhood friend, Oliver."
--
"Unnie, how can you let him speak however he wants to? You're giving him too much lenience!"
"Bongmin, I thought you'd understand. You know what he faced in his childhood!"
Bongmin paused at Jisoo's words.
"What did he face?" She asked.
And that's how Jisoo ended up explaining Oliver's childhood to Bongmin who ended up crying a little.
"Facing what he did in childhood doesn't make his wrong behaviour right but..."
"But?" Jisoo looked at Bongmin who sighed.
"Since he has a completely outlook on love, I guess we can try and make him understand." She pouted.
Jisoo smiled happily and hugged Bongmin, "This is why you're my favourite kid!"
"It's always the best ones who hurt the most."
Heylo! How was your day?
