Another few days went by until they were able to continue with step two of the plan.

James stood in one of the knight's armors opposite of the entrance to the headmasters office that was guarded by a large stone gargoyle.

An extandable ear was placed on the armor, just under an overlap of two metal pieces so it couldn't be seen, James always kept some in his so called 'emergency kit'.

It was quite an uncomfortable position the way James had to stand in this way too big armor, not being able to move.

His job was to get the password to McGonagalls office.

They had tried to do so differently, but the corridor was too long at both sides of the office that they could listen around the corner with an extendable ear.

They had thought about other possibilities to get ahold of the password but hadn't been able to find one.

It seemed like the corridor of the headmasters office was designed to not let random people get the password that were not supposed to.

So now James stood here in the knight's armor, for at least ten minutes by now, and waited for McGonagall to come along.

Suddenly he could hear running steps coming towards him but he wasn't able to look at who it was because he couldn't turn inside the armor.

Lucas appeared at the rim of the visor.

"There you are.", He panted, "I wasn't sure which knight armor you were in again. Anyway, McGonagall is on her way, Dominique said I should have a look that you're not asleep. So, you awake?"

"Of course.", James scoffed.

That wasn't entirely true, actually he had been very close to falling asleep.

"Good!", Lucas said, already turning and running away again.

And yes, a minute later James heard another pair of footsteps walking down the corridor.

He saw Professor McGonagall passing the area he was able to see out of the visor, then she disappeared again and her footsteps stopped.

"Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak.", James heard it loud and clear through the end of the extandable ear.

He would've been able to understand it without the extandable ear, too, but they wanted to make sure they got the password in case Professor McGonagall would only mutter it, or even whisper.

A squeaking noise sounded, and a few seconds later it did again.

'Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak.', James recited in his head, wondering if he got it right, such a weird password.

He always thought McGonagall would have like a supercomplicated long word or sentence.

"Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak.", he now muttered quietly to not forget it.

A few minutes later, he heard footsteps of about four people that should be his friends to finally get him out of the armor since he couldn't do it alone.

"Finally!", he groaned.

"You got it?", Alice peeked through the helmet, looking curiously.

"Yes. Now, please get me out of here, it's so uncomfortable. Why did I even sign up for this?"

"You were the one who absolutely wanted to be in a real knight's armor, remember?", Dominique asked as he felt people beginning to tamper with the armor.

"I did?", James said, "Well, not again."

"So, what is the password?", Alice asked, taking the helmet of James' head.
