" SAY IT " whispered an angry Allegra Swan, the pack surrounded the half naked teenage girl, they had managed to get one of Embry's shirts onto her but after that - she refused to let them near her.
Charlie Swan stood in front of everyone, the man didn't speak, he didn't move. He was the shell of a man that he once was and the final straw on his already deteriorating state was the final skeleton in his closet tumbling out, finally exposing the ugly truth.
"Say it," repeated Allegra. A tear rolling down her face.
Charlie Swan gulped nervously. "Are you sure you want to know the truth?"
Allegra managed a nod, feverishly wiping away her falling tears away. Only an hour ago, she had woken up completely naked on the beach, she couldn't remember much except a burning heat and an unrelenting anger, it had been clawing at her skin for weeks begging to finally be released and now that it had been - she felt empty.
"Your mother and I were going to wait until you turned 18... or until you were old enough to ask question." Charlie chose his words carefully, and in doing so it made her feel sick.
"When you were 12, you asked me once, why we were all pale and you just... weren't."
Allegra licked her lips tasting her salty tears on her lips, "you wanted to know why you showed more similarities with..." he couldn't even finish his sentence as he blinked away tears.
"Your mother and I weren't ready to tell you that you were adopted." The word was like a knife to the chest, Allegra let a sob slip past her lips as her knees threatened to buckle.
Charlie bought his hand up to his face and wiped away tears before anyone could call him out on it and approached his daughter, there was a moment of hesitation before he finally lowered himself onto his knees in the gravel.
Allegra looked up at the man that she had been calling her father for the last 16 years of her life and she waited... she waited to feel hatred and waited for the sense of loneliness settle in.
Charlie Swan was all she knew, they were best friends and after a moment of simply staring at him - Allegra knew that she couldn't hate him.
He pulled her in for a hug and waited for her to push him away, instead, she lowered her head onto his shoulder and closed her eyes letting the sobs slip past her lips. "You're my daughter," he whispered. "We adopted you but you are mine. I love you."
Allegra was overwhelmed with emotions, love, anger and betrayal it was a never ending cycle of 'what the fucks' and 'please don't let me go.'
The pack retreated leaving the father and daughter to talk, this was a personal moment that they probably should've abandoned like five minutes later but that would mean dragging Embry away from his mate kicking and screaming and none of them thought that would be possible on this very day.
